Favorite photo{s} of 2011

by Rachel Marie Martin

I’m joining with my friend Sam, from Sam’s Noggin, for a dual link-up where we’re encouraging you to find your favorite photo {or in my case photos} from the year. I decided to focus on finding a photo that had a great deal of meaning to me. Then as I was driving home from the store yesterday I started to realize which photo had tremendous significance.

It’s this one.

Samuel was running.

And to run one needs to be full of vitality. This was taken in early June just after his second biopsy to determine if he was healing from Celiac Disease. For months and months prior to this photo he was so sick — terribly sick, in and out of the hospital, seeing doctors and more — and all I wanted for him was to be a kid. And this photo? It captures the sweet Samuel running and in the background the thankfulness I felt to just see him run.

So can you do it? Can you narrow it down to just one? Find your photo{s}, grab the button, and link-up below. Your links will show up on both blogs. 🙂 And make sure to visit Sam’s wonderful blog –>> Sam’s Noggin.

Hi Rachel, I’m a long-time lurker but this is my first time commenting. 🙂 Love the picture of Samuel running! What a story of triumph.

I am trying to do the linky but it’s my first attempt at doing so and I’m not sure if I’m doing it correctly. I copy/pasted the code into the HTML field in my blog post, but it’s showing up as an empty rectangle. Is there any trick to it? Thanks for the help!

What a perfect photo, this is my first time visiting so I will have to read more about your journey but I can only imagine how rewarding it is to see him living life so fully after so much sickness.

I love this picture so much! I know well how it feels to want to celebrate normal victories and kid things — so glad to see that captured in such a beautiful photo!

I have 6 kid and 6 grand kids…I wouldn’t DARE pick just one pic! But I don’t think anyone in your family would complain about the one you chose. Took one look at it and I teared up…again! Thanking the Lord so much that Samuel’s doing so well!
Still continuing to lift up prayers.
2 Corinthians 1:3-5 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.
