my favorite easy fall recipe: baked apples

by Rachel Marie Martin

No joke.

This is as easy as it gets.

Go to store: Buy Granny Smith Apples. Get a pie plate and put 6-8 apples on it. Hollow the apples out — make it like a “v” shape at the top so it’s almost like a funnel. Fill with walnuts (and raisins if you’re “that” family). Add a pat of butter to the top, a tablespoon or so of brown sugar and sprinkle with cinnamon.

Bake at 350 degrees for an hour or until apples are soft.

Remove. Let cool for just a short bit.

Enjoy.

And you will be the hero.

is this a recipe that you can make and reheat the apples another day or do they have to be eaten on the same day?
