recharged

Samuel’s genetic test came back positive for him carrying the celiac gene. Am I surprised? No.  It does help solidify the direction the doctors are taking.  Answers are good.

In other more exciting news — he’s eating — after weeks of pushing away food!  It is exciting to see him enjoy food again.  He’s not absorbing much (the doctors told me what to watch for and how to tell), yet he’s still eating.  I am just thankful that he’s eating and not in the tremendous pain that he was in for the last couple of weeks.  Right now we need that intestinal tract of his to heal.  Quickly. He’s so pale and lacks his full energy.  But, he’s better.  Getting recharged — bit by bit.

So for now, enjoy these pics of Samuel eating his fave — gluten free noodles and sauce. 🙂
oh yeah, and painting his face with it.

**********

By the way — I wanted to update you tonight with news about the vehicle. And that makes 2 days with 2 posts.  Life is busy right now…..:)

It was the battery. (Thank goodness.)

Todd met with a mechanic who checked the old (and very very dead ) battery and then replaced it with a new fully charged one.  The mechanic worked outside in subzero temps — horrible weather conditions — but he was awesome and courteous and kind. I could hardly stand the cold when I drove it home so I can’t imagine working in that weather.  (By the way, the heat did start to kick on when I pulled in the drive-way. ha ha ha)

So tonight I praise for Samuel’s returning appetite and recharged zest for food as well as the recharged (and new) battery.  Thanks for the prayers.  Truly.

I’m so glad he’s at least eating and enjoying his food. The poor little guy has been through so much. It must make you so happy to see him eating, and to know that what he’s eating won’t hurt him anymore.

So happy and praising God with you about both things–especially Samuel eating. He has amazing eyes and I can see in his eyes that he is feeling a little better when I look at these pics!

Have you thought about boosting his nutrients with liquid nourishment such as green smoothies, or chlorophyll drinks? I drink a smoothie with plain yogurt, 2 cups of greens, flax seed (ground), and frozen fruit (plus water or juice; carrot juice, etc). You can add banana, honey or vanilla yogurt to make it sweeter. It’s done wonders for my health.

So glad it was only the battery and that someone was able to fix it so quickly and even in the sub zero temps-we are starting day 3 stuck inside due to snow and ice in Texas-it is crazy-in the 5 years we have lived here it has never been that bad.
Praising God that Samuel is eating and praying that he will begin to feel better and absorb nutrients from his food soon.
He is just beautiful-so sweet.
Hoping that you rest well tonight and that tomorrow is even more full of blessings.
Hugs
Jill

Now THAT’S the pic I’ve been waiting to see!
Know that you’re in my thoughts and prayers right now!
Psalms 28:6-7 Blessed be the LORD, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications. The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

Oh, I’m so happy to hear this. What absolutely adorable pics! And, I love your new header and I bet that savvy Hannah did it for you.

We’re under a winter snow/sleet watch and things are busy here in our little town with folks rushing to the grocery store to get ready for being in a day or two. What a winter this has been across our nation.

Sending sunshine and rainbows your way!
