where oh where oh where….

by Rachel Marie Martin

…did my little boy go?

Brennan started soccer on Monday. He’s been waiting and waiting and waiting – and practicing and practicing and practicing. And finally, this hot hot hot week {yesterday we hit 102 — and we live in Minnesota where at other times it gets to be negative 42} soccer began.

And he was happy.

And I saw my little boy, my first born son, grow up. Just a bit.

{taken with the phone}

And I am so proud.

Being a mother is all about these moments, these days of seeing our little ones grow up. It’s so hard to not fight it — to wish to keep them little — and yet, those moments of childhood are so fleeting. It’s such a mixture of sweetness and bitter-sweetness and remembering and encouraging and living in the moment.

Oh yeah, and I am looking into soccer scholarships now for that boy.  hee hee hee. That’s the pride of a momma’s heart. 🙂

I forgot that Hannah started this again. I’ll have to join next week. He looks so big boyish! How handsome! And I thought it was only supposed to get that hot in SC?! It seems like just a few weeks ago you were wondering when spring would arrive! Ha! Enjoy the warmth!

Adorable! Just look at that expression on his face 🙂

My Sprout starts baseball soon and I think I’m more excited than he is!

And can you believe this weather! Yesterday, what, 102 or so?!? Crazy for this early in the summer.

He looks so cute and so grown up! I wish my oldest would play (I played in college). The last time I asked her she said “no thanks, I’d get too sweaty!” WHAT? LOL

102? Wow! And Brennan looks good in his soccer gear! My little one loves soccer, too, and will be starting soon!
Hope you get a little reprieve from the weather today!

Happy Wednesday! 🙂

Sorry it’s so hot there! Hope it cools off! Watching and playing soccer in the heat….doesn’t sound like fun.
Know that you’re in my thoughts and prayers!
Isaiah 25:8-9 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it. And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
