lessons from my children

by Rachel Marie Martin
Walking together.
Sharing life.
Bonds.
Teaching and learning.
Living fully in the moment.
Embracing the now.
Fully.
Vibrant.
Curious.
Joyful.
Determined.
Fighter.
Yes, a fighter.
Cherished.
Snapshot of time.
Beauty in living.
Learning.
Let me watch them.
Understand them, encourage, love.
Let them teach me about joy.
About wonder.
About opportunity.
About life.
Tell me little ones of mine, tell me how you see the world.
I want to remember.
I really want to remember.
Teach me how to get right back up after you fall.
To keep going.
To keep going.
Yes, to keep going.
Moving forward, not looking back.
Full of hope.
Faith.
I want to remember.
Teach me.
What do you learn from your children?

My children have taught me that I thought I knew it all before having them but really I knew very little!
They have taught me real love that knows no boundaries which has given me a whole new understanding of God’s love for us.
They teach me to love, cherish, let go, laugh, live in the moment…oh what a gift they are:)

What I love about watching my kids is that they are so pure still in a way…not hardened by the world. I need to be more like that 🙂 Love that Samuel.

Precious, precious lessons. I’m still trying to learn – but they are teaching me patience, to slow down, and joy!

Children; always seeing the best in others… and they don’t even have to purpose to see them that way-

That I need more patience and grace!!! My oldest last night at the dinner table (he’s 6) piped up, after I’d been harping on both kids to SIT DOWN and EAT YOUR FOOD, “So, it must be really really hard to be a parent huh.”

He’s brilliant.

Wonderful poem. And your daughter is quite the photographer!

Hope your children are doing well and healthy. We just had a minor surgery for one of our kids turn into a major surgery, with 9 days in the hospital. Makes you appreciate health and God so much more afterwards. She is home recovering, but it will be a slow process.

So precious! I love that you find so much joy from your kids. It is amazing the wonder and love that they have for the simple things. My little guy is 11 weeks now. I just love seeing his smile. 🙂

So sweet!! And as always great photos! You always seem to capture the memory, rather than just the image. 🙂

That last picture of Samuel – awwwww! It’s my favorite. He so huggable and CUTE and sweet. I love that kids have such faith. They remind me what it means to have faith like a child. You are a beautiful mom to stop and cherish everything. You’re the best!

Love this post, as I love all of them!
Know that you’re always in my thoughts and prayers!
Isaiah 41:10, 13 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. (13) For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

My children, wow, what a question, what have they taught me?

Patience. I can wait forever for things these days. I am so relaxed in my work because I don’t really care to much about the red tape and timelines. It is just work. But my children, they are the world. My world.
