At the bottom of this post is an update on Samuel. Thank you for praying for him. Thank you.
Seriously, Lynnette, one word??? I don’t know how to do this one word thing………okay. I’ll try. I can’t. You guys got a word? I’m thinking joyful. Or intentional. Hannah just told me — geographer. Nice. I guess my love of geography is trickling down. She did just come back and say joyful. Or planted. That’s better.

Phil, from The Amazing Race. That’s partially because I would love to BE on The Amazing Race. Can’t you just see my blip under my name? Rachel — homeschooling mom of seven. You know that’s what it would be. And Phil in his voice-over would be stating, “Rachel, that homeschooling mom of seven….” as they would show me unable to solve a history problem or messing up simple addition. ha ha ha
No. I kind of wish at times I were, but then I am kind of like Lynnette — I just start giggling or feeling silly and then I have to make a sarcastic comment, etc…. I’m more of a lets go walk through the park and chat or let’s do yard work together type of gal.
That would be COFFEE. Any kind. Any time. Decaf at night, please. Since I’m constantly to and fro from ballet coffee has become the beverage in my hand. Food? Anything Thai. Right now it’s some gluten-free Pad Thai.
I’ve never been completely caught up with laundry for more than a week. I really would desire to keep up with it for at least two weeks. Speaking of this laundry — I’ve just opened a giveaway for some wool dryer balls….shown below….here’s the link! wool dryer ball giveaway
Okay, seriously, I’d love to go on a missions trip with my kids. No explanation needed.
If I get nervous I shake my hands out or fluff my hair. Fluffing the hair creates quite the eighties look, by the way. I think it’s just a way to get energy out of me. Years ago, when I played the organ (how’s that for random? who do you know that plays the organ) for church I’d shake out my hands in between hymns. I did NOT fluff my hair. Awkward.
I don’t like elevators. At all. If others are with me than I’m better, but as soon as I’m alone in an elevator I’m always looking for my escape route in case I get stuck. Most often, I’ll take the stairs.
I’m creative. Not afraid to take risks. I’ve played the piano since I was four — and many times that is when I think or pray. I’m grateful for the years of lessons my parents payed for when I grew up. So grateful –they must have known I would needed to pray a great deal.

your new blog is adorable!!! love caribou coffee 🙂 and amazing race… good choice! 🙂
So nice to meet you! Love your blog!
Hi! Enjoyed your post so much. 🙂
I don’t like elevators either…cute blog.
I could see it! I would watch the Amazing race if you were on it!
I would love to meet Jennifer Garner!
I want to hear your piano playing! I fought my mom on taking lessons so what do you know?! I can’t play anything.
Elevators creep me out! I got stuck in one with some random man at the university I attended. I almost had a heart attack… In my head I thought he was a serial killer who planned the whole thing. Turns out he was just a student who was also a youth pastor. Phew!
Praying for that croup and your boy!
Praying for Samuel, who btw, comes up on my heart often whether I’m blogging or not, love how God does that! Planted, what an awesome word for a daughter to say of her mom, love that! Love learning more about you…sounds like you guys are settling into the gluten-free world 🙂
Hello! Jut blog hopping and wanted to drop a comment!
Hate prednisone, do not blame you for not wanting to give it to you little one. My oldest had lots and lots of breathing probs when he was under 4 and prednisone always made him crazy, he couldn’t sleep but would sob because he would be soooo tired. i had to take it last year for pneumonia and had the same problem and told dr I didn’t want to take it ever again. So, glad he is eating! It sounds like you are managing well.
Blessings and prayers,
Tracey
I enjoyed reading the random things about you…how fun. Thanks for the Samuel updating…I will keep praying.
Thinking of your little guy and sending prayers.
Loooove coffee too, should drink decaf more often since I have a hard time sleeping through the night.
I never would have guessed the elevator or organ 🙂 But geographer…oh yes you look like one 🙂 hee hee
For Samuel’s croup have you ever tried GOOT? It’s what we use when our children start getting it. When I first hear the cough I put a dab on a bandaid then put it one on each foot and one on their chest.
If you don’t know what GOOT is – it’s a mix of 3T each Olive Oil, Coconut Oil and Garlic. Kills most anything and works fairly quick. You can check it out on my blog. Just type it in the search bar and you can read more about it. We use it religiously. What I love about it is it kills the infection but not the good bacteria in their little bodies.
Thank you for the update on Samuel. Oh one alternative we use for dairy is Almond milk (I make our own by grinding raw almonds mixed with water) I also drink Rice Milk but I do not give it to our 2 yr old as it’s high in sugar. He gets organic flash pasteurized milk which his body tolerates better than regular milk.
Okay I’ve rambled on a bit long….
hugs~ Cinnamon
Always here praying!
2 Corinthians 1:3-5 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

I have a huge dislike of elevators too! Give me plain old stairs any day.
Pretty sure we’re doing Amazing Race – Family Version, remember? I’ll do all the activities that you old fuddy-duddies (sp?) can’t do anymore, Joe will do all the strength and crazy things, you will be history and geography queen aka map person, and Becky will be the enforcer and make sure we get to every place before the other teams aka the planner. Sound good? SUPER EXCITED! hahaha
Haha, so I was in my tournament gmail account when I typed my comment (see below for a copy) so it came out that Phil wants to do family Amazing Race with you, when in reality, it is your little sis that made a crucial error…ONE that could have cost us the RACE! lol Love ya!

oh, oh-I know somebody who plays the organ! In fact, I lkive with him. My husband is the organist at our church. In fact he will be doing so in about three and a half hours for choir practice…and leaving me to deal with the bedtime masdness myself.
Geographer is a good way to be described. Intentional is my word this year, so I am hoping to be more like you. 🙂
Coffee is my go-to comfort food too which I am indulging in as I blog hop this afternoon.
Fun post, thanks for sharing.

I love your list. My sis’s and I were almost picked for the Family Amazing Race. We went to the very last interview and then they picked four blondes instead~ugh! But, I the thought of almost being there still gives me goose bumps!
I hear you on almost every single one of these…especially the laundry one!
Hey there fluffy hair woman! That’s funny Rachel! I clean when I get flustered. Like a mad woman!!
That’s cool that you play piano. I wish I did. I play enough to frustrate myself. I always wanted to play but never really had the opportunity until I got married… then I started having children and ran out of time. Ugh. Oh well… I’m happy with my life, and I have children who play for me. 🙂
I think those wool dryer balls look awesome. I might have to check those out.
Well, better run.
Love you friend.
Lynnette
So nice to meet a friend…or chum rather…of Lynnette’s. She is such a blessing to my life…although I only know her in blogland. You are lovely…and so is your blog!
Blessings,
Kelly
