an imagination station book collection give-away CLOSED

by Rachel Marie Martin

Try saying that title really fast three times. Whoa.

It’s Valentine’s Week, and post-birthday week, and throughout this week I’ve got some fun little giveaways planned. They’re all for items that we love, through companies that I love, and hopefully they bless one of you just as much they’ve blessed us.

Today? I am blessed to review and then offer a giveaway for a set of six Imagination Station books produced by Tyndale House and Focus on the Family. Great companies that produce excellent materials. These books? Loved in my house. Read in my house.

I’ve read them aloud to the kids — and it always started with me just going to read one chapter — and ended with somehow me being convinced to read them the entire book. The books are about the adventures of two curious kids, Patrick and Beth, as they get to explore time through a very cool time machine invented by Mr. Whittaker. Yes, Adventures in Odyssey. 🙂

In the first book, they travel back to the land of the Vikings and explore Viking culture and learn about Christian faith. Honestly? That’s my favorite part of this excellent series — the interweaving of history and faith.

Here’s a quote from Tyndale House and Focus on the Family about the books:

Travel back in time and sail with the Vikings, meet a Roman emperor, come face-to-face with China’s Kublai Khan, and experience a host of other historical adventures in the Imagination Station series for young readers. The first two books in the series, Voyage with the Vikings and Attack at the Arena, released in March and the second two, Peril in the Palace and Revenge of the Red Knight, earlier this summer. Books 5 and 6, Showdown with the Shepherd and Problems at Plymouth, release in October.

Written for early readers, ages 7 and up, the series features the virtual reality device the Imagination Station, which is one of the major plot devices used in the Adventures in Odyssey audio drama series. Nobody knows the inner workings of the mysterious device, invented by Odyssey’s Mr. Whittaker, but with a push of a button, it launches users back in time to experience historical events in-person.

Oh yes, and remember how I told you I was reading them the books? Well, a couple days later I caught Brennan just reading just a little bit {that’s what he told me} of the book again. As a mom who encourages reading this was awesome! We also love the challenges and puzzles at the end of the books that then link with the Imagination Station website.

Here are the SIX books that one of you will win.

Want to win? Super easy — Using Rafflecopter {which I love — makes giveaways easy} simply follow the instructions. Good luck, friends! THIS GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED.

I am ALWAYS looking for wonderful books that my youngest can read (he is 7). He had such a hard time with reading in the beginning and due to a wonderful program at his school, help at home, and help from his 2nd grade teacher he has done a complete turn around. He is now reading at the same level or higher than most of his class. It was amazing to see the change in him! Books are BIG in our home and to be truthful, I was very worried that due to something in him he was not going to feel the same way that we all do, but now, he does. It’s fantastic! =) ~Stephanie

What comfort we have knowing that the Lord is our Refuge! Praying!
Psalms 46:1-5 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

These books would be fantastic for my 3rd grader. He is becoming a wonderfully independent reader – and sometimes it is hard to find quality books that keep his interest. Having the Christian focus is a HUGE bonus!!
