There is an art to taking a picture of a large family. Or a group of people.
An art that I have not discovered.
At least with a slow, three second delay, camera phone. When I start — the picture looks amazing. By the time the camera clicks — well, this is the result. Judge for yourself.
Seems to me that my little guy, Caleb ( pictured to the left and who was the title picture for my last post and is wearing the orange Crocs) is the biggest wiggler. Somehow his cute smile makes up for his almost amazing ability to not sit still. Samuel — he’s reliable almost every time for a cute smile. And photogenic Grace? She can be looking down and still look cute. Maybe I need Hannah to photoshop all of these pics. Or maybe I’ll just send it out like this for Christmas.
There is something priceless in the chaos.

I know the feeling!!! We have 5 kiddos and they alwaya wiggle, so we NEVER get them all looking in the right direction at the same time : ) Loved this post, and you have a beautiful family!!

I have t his problem too…and I only have TWO! Maybe you could have them do something intentionally (like jump, form a pyramid, lay in a circle with all their heads together on the inside of the circle and take a photo from above…). Sometimes if they have a purpose they are less apt to be so wiggly. I’ve found this to be true when I photography mine and their gaggle of cousins!

I can relate !!! I have children and that was always a struggle – trying to get a great photo of them all looking at the camera smiling !!!

Actually, I think those pictures are perfect just the way they are. You couldn’t make someone pose like that – it just happened — and so it was natural. Somehow, those are my favorite shots. So you really do possess the art! 🙂

I love every last one of them. They are real life.
I love these pictures because they are not posed. They show your blessings as they are. You can look back on them in years to come and they will help you remember.

Have that problem…have you looked at the Christmas photos of our family on my FB page? Hard enough when we had 6…but have now added 4 spouses and 6 grands! Going to be interesting this next Christmas!

Enjoy the chaos…too many pics, I chose to delete, bc they weren’t “perfect”…had I to do it over again, I’d gladly delete the “perfect” and stick with the “realistic chaos”…isn’t that the way you’ll remember them in your heart? LOVE the pictures…all of them!
