I saw a video at Relevant that changed my perspective on true need. The compelling video was put together by One Verse, which is part of the Seed Company. And in that video I witnessed the Gamo people in Africa hearing about our Savior for the first time ever.
It brought tears to my eyes.
It inspired me.
It motivated to me to be involved with getting the Word translated.
It humbled me.
It’s not about me.
It’s not about my blog or numbers or stats.
It’s about eternal stats.
It’s about life.
Eternal life.
Those are the only stats that truly matter.
And that is where One Verse comes in. I’ve joined with a group of bloggers who’ve decided that – We are Not Okay With That — and that means we’re not okay with people lacking true life — the Bible. I can type in Bible and pages of options are available. I look around my home and can see the NIV, the ESV, and commentaries sitting around.
There are people in this world who do not even have one verse.
Not even one.
Watch this video. Your heart simply won’t be the same.
{and please note — this video is a youtube link}
Consider joining the One Verse movement. The group of bloggers that I am partnering with are working together to get the New Testament translated for the Vidunda people of Tanzania. Population? 56,000. All without a verse. But, that can end, and in fact, right now translators are working hard to have the New Testament translate by 2015. And friends, prayer is a key part of it. If you can’t sponsor a verse right now, consider praying for this company and for those that hear His true Word.
Thank you, my dear friends, for hearing my plea.

Isaiah 43:1-3a But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel…

Love it. 🙂 Did you know that we’re with Wycliffe which One Verse/Seed Company is a part of?? Yes, seeing the vast number of people that are w/o even one word of Scripture is mind-boggling.
Of the nearly 7000 languages in the world only 450-some have the entire Bible. Very humbling for us Americans who have dozens of Bibles in our homes – this stat shouldn’t be one that we just shake our heads at, but one that moves us to get involved. Thanks for promoting it!
