Ah, the cell phone. Remember the days before it became so smart? And held all the pictures? And apps? And it was, well, just a phone? I do. And, gasp, my kids can’t believe I made it all the way through high school without a cell phone. And college. Come to think of it, how did I? lots and lots of quarters…
Today, on Monday, I thought I’d share with you a collection of those photos that get snapped with the phone. Now, before I go on and you think it will be one of those super cool Instagram collage type posts with amazing photos that make life look like it’s pulled from a nostalgia film just stop.
I have a droid. And droids don’t get instagram. {though, shhh, I’m hoping they do. and, shhh, my next phone, when this contract is up in 10 months 16 days, not that I’m counting, will be an iphone} So my photos are just your standard cell phone photos with a bit of droid app help.
my droid vignette pics.
droid instagram. or at least their attempt. It’s called vignette photo. And this is my picture from last week, when we had snow. I love the country roads between ballet and home.
my keys. taken at ballet. Not sure why I took this, but I’m pretty sure that I was playing around w/the faux instagram settings.
me. um, yep, I took some pictures of myself with my phone. {I know some of you have done that as well. grin} This one? Probably taken when I was waiting at ballet. Or, honestly, it probably was a pic of me with that holiday Starbuck’s coffee cup that I texted to Hannah showing her I stopped for coffee. 😉
hannah’s foot. Speaking of Hannah, last November I just happened to snap a picture of her foot xray prior to her surgery. So, on my phone’s sd card I have this lovely picture of my daughter’s foot showing the extra piece of bone that she needed to have removed.
front door. This pic? From last June. Apparently it was very hot that day. And, apparently on that day I hung a chalkboard on our front door. You know what would have been better? If I had written the temp that tells how hot it actually was! Note: according to a google search of weather we hit 103 degrees. Okay, that deserved that sign. 🙂
the lowes car. Last summer, when we were up at the lake Samuel rode between cabins in this Lowe’s push along car looking adorable. And very, very sleepy. Too much sun.
the shoes. Who doesn’t have shoe picture? These shoes were a gift from Famous Footwear at the Blissdom Conference. They are so crazy comfortable. In fact, they’re so comfortable that sometimes {shhh} I wear them in the house.
oh my, edamame. Someone needs to outlaw these. Or hide them. Or eat them so I can’t eat them. These little chocolate covered morsels are just that good. So good that I snapped a pic of them at Trader Joe’s. 🙂
trader joes brings spring. sigh. love, love, love that store. Even beyond the edamame.
back roads. Again. I never grow tired of the beauty around me and am just thankful for the peace in the country. Although, I am looking forward to the day where I will see that same view and the trees will be lush and the field filled with corn stalks.
ending with joy. I shared this picture with you earlier this year, but it deserves a spot in the cell phone file pics post. It involves coffee, target, and mainly joy. I still remember the look of surprise on the barista’s face when I asked her if I could snap a picture of her joy sign for my blog.
There you go. Some miscellany pics from my cell phone. Some day I might do random facebook uploads — those pics are just as varied. Have a favorite pic from above? Or how about you — what’s a random one on your phone — any xrays? 🙂
Blessings on your Monday, and of course, I’m linking with my lovely friend Carissa.

Trader Joe’s is my favorite. I am really bad about using my phone to take pictures. I forget a lot it does. I have had it since June – but it is the first phone that takes photos… what that you can tell what is in the photo. I am going to be better about it.
love! great memories. i love scrolling thru the pics on my phone to relive moments. i think taking a picture w our cell phones might be the new “stop and smell the roses” 🙂
I did a post like this recently…also with my Android pictures. I’ve had huge Android issues and as I posted today, my iPhone is on the way. I love TJ’s flowers and they are price so reasonably. That temp definitely deserves a sign! Have a wonderful week.
your boy looks so sweet
I totally thought all those boxes of chocolate were in your pantry!
Now explain this photo thing with the droid … since I am clueless!
All those fresh flowers are beautiful! Love this time of year!
Man I wish we had a TJ in dallas!!
Thankful your droid takes a good picture. I can’t wait until you get your iPhone and then we can be friends on Instagram (if you will have me)! Love the picture of Samuel all tuckered out in the little cart.
I just got an iphone three weeks ago and I LOVE it! it is SO useful…and I love the photo aspect, I can send my photos to my wireless printer FROM the phone which is fun…the gps is great when i am trying to find a clients home 🙂 you can keep your schedule on it and I found an app that tells your daily what apps are free…you will love getting one! 🙂
oh fun! i must say that this is a worthy instagram substitute. although, it will be a FUN day when you do have an iPhone. : )
must try the chocolate edamame.i looked for it when i last went and it was nowhere. but i’ll try again. i’m determined!
and yes, love their flowers. they last a long time and their chip. for the win!
cute shoes! you trendy thing, you. okay, if blissdom gives you a new pair of shoes, i HAVE to be there next time. ; )
love ya, my dearie!
Must confess that my hand-me-down cell phone isn’t very “smart” ~ no photos even. But the bzillion free ring tones on it make me oh so happy to know in advance who’s calling!
Really had to comment just to say ‘yAy!’ for another midwestern gal who loves the beauty of a rural landscape ~ Thank you from a central Iowa farmgirl!
I have a droid and use vignette too, but the regular photos from it aren’t very good. Apparently instagram is in the works for android though ;0) Great shots! Any good little kid apps for android?
i’ve just recently started upload the best quality cell phones pictures i can manage. however, my phone was free. thus, poopy quality.
yours are really good though!
Love the Lowes car- my hubs is a manager there (Connecticut!).
Always love your shares. And in Starbucks there is great joy…but chocolate edamame? Oh my.
You miscellany and your photos, your moments in time really – are pure lovely.
Would like a better cell phone just for the photos, but…that isn’t going to happen so I do the best I can taking pics with my phone and the upload tons of them to FB!
Paul’s sentences can be really long at times…didn’t want to split this one up. Know that I’m here praying!
Ephesians 3:14-21 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
