Really?
You know I’ve joked about my Minnesotan accent for so long — doncha know — and I know you all are just itching to hear that North Woods accent that I’m blessed with. Well, now there’s an opportunity for you to actually hear that voice of mine. It’s really not that bad. I just like to elongate those vowels, ya know.
It’s an awesome event. I’m speaking at the Replenish Your Soul Marriage Conference which is being put together by At the Well – In Pursuit of Titus 2. I’m leading a session titled Joy Comes in the Mourning. It’s the part of the seminar directed at the lines in the marriage vows that talk about sickness and in health. Well, you got it, I’ll be talking a bit about marriage when things, like health, don’t go as planned.
Even in those times of sickness there can be joy.
But, it’s a process that one simply must go through — there really aren’t short-cuts. I’ll be sharing how the Lord has led me through those valley times of sickness, once with my husband being diagnosed with cancer, Samuel with his Celiac Disease, and even me with my shoulder. Those moments in life could have driven me under or our marriage to the brinks, and yet, despite those health hardships the Lord has shown me that there is joy.
Sweet joy.
I’d love it if you’d attend. It’s a virtual conference so it will all be streamed to your computer. And you can pray about that for me — I’ve done speaking in front of live audiences, but this technology part has me a bit nervous. I can’t see faces, you know? It always helps to scan the audience and find that face that’s smiling and encouraging me on.
At the Well has generously given me one ticket to the conference to give away to one of you. If you’re interested in the ticket just leave a comment. I will draw the winner {via random.org} and announce the winner on my Friday Favorites post. I’ll leave the option to enter open until Wednesday evening at 11:59pm CST. Doncha know? It’s that easy.
Hope to “see” some of you there. Tickets are only $10 — and the line up of speakers is amazing. You will be blessed. 🙂

It would seem that we are often on a similar page as I have been wanting to blog about joy in pain through this season with my husband over the past two years. I look forward to reading more about your thoughts and I know many will be blessed. In sickness and in health! I don’t think too many people think about that line when they are saying it but, when it becomes a reality that vow takes on a whole new meaning!
It would be such an honor to hear you speak!!
I am away that weekend at a prayer conference, so please don’t include this as an entry. I just wnated to say I’m sorry I won’t have a chance to attend, I’m sure you will do a wonderful job!
I want to hear you!
Sounds like a great conference, and I would love to hear you speak. 🙂

I have no doubt that you have much to share on this topic. I would love to enter to win the ticket. However, I will be attending a conference at my church that weekend.
I am always encouraged (and challenged) when I read your blog, and I’d love to hear the conference.
Would love to hear you but know I’ll be a tad busy chasing grands that day. Still commenting because the verse is good today…well they’re good every day.
Praying!
Psalms 31:5 Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth (7-8) I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities; And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large room.

I would love to attend this conference! I love that you ladies have made this an option. I have never been to a conference before because of cost or location. This gives me the best of both worlds. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication and most importantly your love for the Lord. You are all awesome!
Wow, congrats to you! What an amazing opportunity, I know you will be blessing many that day.
Wishing you the best Rachel!
