It’s Sunday.
A day of rest.
Needed rest.
This afternoon we’ll be going to my parents. We’ll be picking apples and tomatoes and wandering around my parents yard. Going through my dad’s grapes and hoping to pick one that’s ripe and not too sour. No huge plans. Just family. Working together.
And laughing together.
Take those moments, those beautiful moments of family time and run with them. When I look at the years of marriage that I’ve been blessed to have I realize just how important family is to us. Family wins. That’s a family motto we have — family first. Always.
And that means today, I’ll be resting. Enjoying helping my mother in the kitchen, and walking the backyard with my dad, and playing cards with my siblings, and playing the piano with my sister, and watching my children play in the yard and sit at the table of my childhood.
Enjoying the simple and beautiful and everyday moments in this life that the Lord has blessed me with. So grateful for Sunday. And family.
Enjoy your Sunday. And try to rest.

There are times in the mist of the business of life when my grandma and great aunt come over to my parents house. As I’m sitting there listening to the conversation, I try not to remember that long to do list that I have in my head. I try to remind myself that they won’t always be present in my life and that I need to soak in and take advantage of these moments. Thanks for the reminder Rachel.
Enjoy a restful Sunday…beautiful post as always!
This sounds like a wonderful Sunday. I hope all the grapes are sweet.
Oh, how well I remember when Sunday truly was a day of rest. All to often it is just another day spent just like any other day. Hats off to you for relishing in the day that it is, celebrating family, picking berries and just “being.” Happy week to you!

hope your day has been so restful and wonderful!
i’ve come to the conclusion that sundays will always be our busiest days… comes with the full time ministry territory. : ) i’m okay with it though.
xoxo!!!
GORGEOUS pictures.
Hope you had a fantastic day!
Continuing to pray!
Psalms 139:4-6 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether. Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.
