This week at the lake has been racing by.
Too fast.
I wish I could just bottle a bit of the time. Just some moments. Moments of quietness. Of seeing a night sky bursting with brilliant stars. Of eating just one more Nut Goodie Bar and not caring. Of laughing at 10pm as my kids play games with me. Of forgetting the day to day life and embracing life. Embracing family. Just living.
Without stress.
My week at the lake gives me the teeniest, tiniest, and probably terribly inadequate glimpse of what heaven might be like. Weeks like these are blessings. Reminders of how this world is temporary — that there is more beyond the daily grind. They are moments of pause, of beauty, of connectedness.
I’m going to savor these days.

(I just saw my live feed listing — “a visitor from Walker, MN” — that’s me, up here at the lake. I need a picture of that.)

Beautiful. The sunsets have been just amazing this week. And Tuesday’s was spectacular!
Oh, yes, I’ve often thought vacations are a bitty glimpse of Heaven…the intimate fellowship among family, the ability to just kick back and enjoy your blessings, and the eating, lol, mmm, the eating, haha..so much I look forward to in Heaven! Love this post, continue your enjoyment, thanks for the update!
gracie looks just like you! i love the pictures and am so excited to see and hear that you are having a beautiful time! it’s so sweet how the Lord gives us small glimpses of what heaven may be like… and to think that it is actually ten million trillion times better than a wonderful week at the lake. – what a glorious thought! oh, (no the sky is not falling! ha!) but i am writing a post for tomorrow and am mentioning you! : )
Beautiful pictures… and as soon as you figure out how to bottle time, let me know!! 😀

Glad you’re having this time away! Sorry it’s going by so quickly…time never slows down…especially when you’re having fun!
Still praying in Seattle!
Psalm 121:1-4: I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

I am so thankful it’s been a wonderful week for you all. I too wish we could bottle time and just keep enjoying these beautiful moments. Can’t wait to hear more and see more fabulous pictures!
Praying!
Psalms 121:5-8 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
