corn, corn, corn…nothing but corn.

by Rachel Marie Martin

Yesterday, I asked you if you’ve watched the Family Feud. Now today I’m wondering if you’ve seen one of our favorite movies — Secondhand Lions. We love the movie. And for those of who who’ve seen it — you’ll get the title of my post.

We had a dozen ears.

Which doesn’t last long in this house.

Especially when Samuel decides that his version of helping is perhaps testing that ear of corn that his brothers and sister Grace shucked.

He was quite content.

So for dinner we had 11 ears to share.

Corn, corn, corn…nothing but corn.

It’s a favorite of summer for our family.
What’s your summertime food favorite? And, yes,  you can pick corn. 🙂

We own that movie, but we watch it with a clearplay filter due to the language. Love it, though. It’s hilarious. Raw corn is yummy. Favorite is peaches! 🙂

Love that movie too!

Samuel looks soooo healthy!! So happy for that!

I thought of you the other day when my Mom sent me a Gluten Free Magazine. Did you know there was a GF magazine subscription? I didn’t. Anyway, it made me think of you and little Samuel.

Sorry to hear you have to wait on your shoulder. Always seems that we need to wait for something. I’m not good at waiting either but it’s more the unknown I am not good at rather than the waiting.

Our favorite summertime food? Definitely watermelon 🙂

Oh, I do love me some corn! I didn’t get my fair share this summer either. This post brought a smile to my heavy heart this evening.

Hope that shoulder responds to the therapy. Hugs to you!

Oh yum, now I want corn…I used to eat raw corn on the cob as a child. Now I usually cook it, but I still like it cold the next day!

Corn is one of mine, along with ice cream cones and bbq hamburgers (without the bun, because with the bun my stomach hurts for hours!)

I haven’t had corn on the cob in a long time…
Know that the Lord is always with you, wrapping His loving arms around you and holding on tight!
Psalms 18:2-6 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid. The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me. In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.
