We have been stepping back into our normal
{is there a normal?}
homeschool schedule this week.
I feel like we accomplished some
— not as much as I’d love to in my “dream” plan —
but still more than we have in a long time.
So this Friday,
for Friday Favorite Things
I’m simply going to list
simple things and moments
from the week that have blessed me.
alphabet cards
laminated cards that a friend blessed me with
provided minutes
{yes, minutes, which is amazing}
of enjoyment.
samuel
eagerly placing
letters down in a row
spelling his name
{with help}
{with help}
Love.
reading
at least starting to learn to read
for my Elijah
who had just as much fun with those letter tiles
as his little brother did.
towers
how could I not share with you
just one more picture of Caleb
building away with those rods?
and for those of you that asked
they are cuisnaire rods that I’ve used with Miquon Math
siblings
honestly, there is nothing sweeter
to me as a momma
than watching my children love each other
{check out that fab Kumon workbook I found on clearance.}

drawing
every morning
Brennan grabs a stack of paper
{we go through a tremendous amount of paper}
and draws and draws and draws.
light
captured
beautifully
is always
a favorite thing
strategy
even little Samuel
enjoys playing games
sometimes.
{I think he secretly just likes the boats}
snow
it finally fell
and now it will be 45 degrees
{here in Minnesota in January — crazy!}
so it’s all melting
but it is still beautiful.
but it is still beautiful.
Simple, Simple, Simple favorites
that have brought me joy.

Rachel, I LOVE your Friday Favorites this week….yes, what is NORMAL? Every day…seems to be a new opportunity that takes me away from what I think is ‘normal’….and into an opportunity to try something new…Love you!!!
Always enjoy your favorites. I wish I had had some of those Alphabet Cards when my kids were small. Love them. Bloggy love this morning.
Rachel, I would so love to be a “fly on the wall” at your house for some of your homeschooling sessions. What fun that would be to watch the various ways that you teach your children.
Look like you may well have a budding artist on your hands.
Love the laminated letters. I’m thinking those would be a great thing for any child. May have to check into making some of those for my Grans.
Blessings to you for this day!
Simply beautiful!

Beautiful pictures and lovely moments in time! We finally had snow earlier this week too, but it’s melting like yours … 45 degrees today. Usually, I want more and more snow, but I’m okay with a mild winter this year. 🙂
Love the letters what a great idea!!!!!
The picture of your daughter in the snow arms wide open …simple beautiful!!
Such fun times! Where are the alphabet cards from? Love their size and colour!
Praise God for His daily blessings, and for your lovely heart of gratitude that appreciates them all!
Love in Him,
Laurie

I love this post! Is the snow still there? Love that you have a Kumon workbook – that’s where I work!
I just came across your blog, and I have to say I was astounded to see you are a momma of 7! Wow, they must keep ya busy 😉
I absolutely love your photos! Your children are adorable!
We have no snow here in WI! A little jealous.
I am a new follower, and I can’t wait to go back and read past post 🙂
love the laminated alphabet!! my four year loves to draw too!! 🙂
I love all your beautiful things. Fun games for all! We have a crazy drawer in our home too. Crazy meaning….she would use up every single piece of paper we have and cut them up too! Messy, messy, messy 🙂 But it brings her such joy.
