Last week, when I was in NYC for Blogher, my eldest daughter surprised me.
She wrote my entire Friday post for me thinking I would be busy
and she put so much thought into it.
My internet was terrible while I was there and I never found it till I got home.
So this week, I’m sharing with you her beautiful work.
My heart bursts with love for her and my family.
Here is her post:
hello everyone!
my name is hannah — i’m rachel’s eldest daughter. 🙂
while she’s in new york, we
thought we would surprise her and take over
her friday favorite things for the week.
so without further ado…
our family’s favorite things today!
elijah { and a sunflare }
swinging on the rope swing
like indiana jones
on a cool summer evening
samuel coloring a picture
{several actually}
for mom at our beautiful new table
{and his little feet on the edge of the chair}
are always favorites
homemade spaghetti for dinner
{and those are gluten free noodles}
sauce loaded up with olives, italian sausage, and italian seasoning

and the boys’ messy faces as they eat it.

and…they’re also gluten free
so everyone loves them
this bag is already gone {gobbled up quicker than you can say yum}
our garden
growing green and leafy and delicious
see that red pepper poking out?
pretty soon…it’ll be plucked by one of the little boys
and they’ll bring it in proudly, like they just won an olympic gold medal
{fresh vegetables are a big deal here 🙂 }
woodland skies
nothing more can really be said
except that we love them and woodland a lot
{we may or may not have a countdown until next year already…}

or honestly, anything from our grandpa’s garden
so many possibilities! in a salad, in a soup, in a vinaigrette,
diced, chopped, sliced, mashed, pureed,
all delicious and all loved by our fam
{like I said, vegetables are a big deal}
the bush in our front yard
it’s so funny, because when we moved in it was a sickly shrub.
but my mom tended to it, pruned it, helped it grow, and
now it’s thriving and prettier than a welcome mat because it’s right before the door.
