Ahhh — some confessions for Miscellany Monday
1) I don’t understand feedburner. My reader numbers jump all over. This confuses me.
2) I do not look good with a mohawk. This was taken while I was riding on the boat in July. At full speed. (please still like me even after I humiliate myself with this picture. And post a comment — even if it’s a slight fib like, “you look FAB with that crazy hair. It’ll make me feel better.)
3) Posts about canning beans are not popular. I’m okay with that. Note to self — refrain from anything to do with beans. Or canning. 🙂 (They did turn out great. Just had to add that.) Still curious? Here’s the link.
4) I always think that I will have nothing to write about for Miscellany Monday. Then, sigh, I end up with too much to write.
5) The lady at Caribou Coffee knows my name. And the drink that I love.
6) My kids spend half their day in the pool. Before you think that we have this fabulous in-ground pool or an amazing Intex pop-up pool let me tell you the truth. We have a small pool. That I move every 2 days (otherwise it ruins the grass). And the kids love it.
7) I love the pool too. It keeps them busy. Shhhhhhhhhhh……
8) It annoys me when my kids come in upset because they got splashed in the pool. I’m thinking, “come on, you are in water!” But, sigh, it probably happens numerous time throughout the day. Like below.
9) I have not started planning for our homeschool for the fall. I think I am in denial.
10) Last one. Can you believe it? I didn’t write about laundry. Well, unless you count this comment. Rats. Wrote about laundry again. (I have lots to do — don’t act so surprised!) Though I should write about laundry because I have so much laundry due to wet clothes from the pool pictured above. You know — they just happened to get splashed while they were running by the pool in their clothes that they just put on five minutes ago. That’s why.

lovin’ the mohalk picture. 🙂 and i totally know about being in the pool and getting splashed thing. my oldest does not want to splash but she likes to splash the others. makes pool time more interesting anyway! lol
The Mohawk picture is hilarious! I actually LOVE posts about canning and I’m excited for you that your beans turned out well. The man in the cafeteria knows how I like my breakfast sandwich and I get embarrassed every time. I love your pool…almost got one just like it.
oooooooooh you live near a caribou coffee… I AM SO JEALOUS!!!! i think caribou rocks.. more than even starbucks!!!
btw- the hair is really crazy.. BUT.. i noticed you have the lovliest skin ever!!!!
Love the hair! So glad the pool provides entertainment for both you and the kids!:o) And, I cannot even imagine how much laundry piles up at your house because it piles pretty high here with just Hubby and I. Always enjoy your entries! Hugs!
Gillian Grace loves spending her summer days in the pool too! It sure does beat the heat! Happy Monday!
I admit to giggling a little to the mohawk. Maybe a lot. Too funny. I think it’s great that you’re brave enough to post it.
And you know how I feel about laundry. Doing it as we speak.
Your picture is hysterical. I love it. Cracking up at the kids getting upset about being splashed in the pool. LOL Sounds like my kids.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today.

Love Caribou coffee, though we aren’t close to one, and love the mohawk picture! We have the same battle with splashing in our tiny plastic pool, but they get over it, thankfully. I’m just glad for the diversion too. Have a great day!
These posts crack me up! haha. great facts… haha

I love that mowhawk picture, I think your kids would think you were the cooles mom ever if you sported that around! Who needs a fancy smancey pool, they look like they are having a great time, so cute! I’m going to read your post on canning, I canned with my greatgrandma all the time when I was little, I have some great memories from shucking and canning! Thanks the sweet comments you leave me!
Your boat picture looks a lot like my hair in the 80s. But with more hairspray.
I think that’s partly why my husband married me – he loves big hair. 🙂
I’m glad I’m not the only mom with procrastination issues with homeschooling this fall… We’re probably going to be in the middle of our Big Move (we’re moving 950 miles – that qualifies as a big move, right?!) but we’re not sure of the date, so it’s really hard to start something big and then have to put it on pause for a few weeks.
I even have this great timeline from Homeschooling thru the Ages but I can’t put it up yet since the house is on the market…
You use your pool the same way I use the trampoline – it keeps them busy for hours! 🙂
Blessings…
Oh! And if you can beans or any other produce, you are officially entitled to mention it on your blog. Then all of us who did not plant a garden (again, blaming the Big Move) can say, “Oh, I really need to do some canning next summer” and admire you for being industrious! 🙂
Love the one about the beans!! I find it so funnny that the post you thing will be a hit is a dud and vise versa!!
Aww, they’re so cute playing in the pool! Oh yeah, my sisters come inside crying, about the other one splashing them, all the time.
Oh, and my mom’s hair does the same thing when we open the sunroof on our car. lol =D I don’t even wanna know what would happen if she were on a boat…. going full speed. lol jk 😛
OH girl! I just love this post!!!! Made me laugh so hard! SO many things to respond to…first off, beans…oh my, one night at dinner last week we had the whole entire extended family coming up with every bean ever invented…have no idea how that trivia started, but it went on for the whole evening, loL! Don’t worry about not posting about laundry, I did it for ya 🙂 As far as your hair, Girl, you look FaBuLoSo, lol! We have the whole, You’re-not-allowed-to-complain-about-being-splashed-when-you-are-even-NeAr-the-pool rule, hah!
Thanks for the smiles today :))
haha! How did your hair do that…so funny 😉 I think the wind-blown look is supposed to be ‘in’ 😉
We have an inground pool…but something about those blowup pools and the hose…and the slip ‘n slide, my kids still LOVE! But, yes, it drives my husband crazy that it kills the grass!
Thanks for stopping by 🙂 so funny to read your post 😉
Who cares what your hair looked like. You were on the boat having a great time on vacation! Love it.
I must say that I flashed back to the singers in the band “B-52’s” and since I love them…I love your hair in the photo. Possibly a costume idea for Oct 31st?
Yeah, your not alone in the home school planning either…I prefer to be pleasantly surprised when Sept rolls around. And then I will worry about it.
Ok, don’t know you at all, and not sure how I ended up at your blog, but based solely on the mohawk picture, I will definitely stop back:)
ps I don’t get feedburner either. I mean ??
I am with you with the homeschooling. I am so behind. But I guess it needs to be done. And the splashing in the water, I know right? They complain about getting wet. I just don’t get it.
Thanks for your randomness!

bahaha!!! i love the mohawk. rach rocks the hawk! : )
what’s wrong with beans?! practically the only thing i can get hunter to eat? black beans. and believe me, i pay for it. and yes, we do sing the “beans beans the magical fruit” song while he eats them.
#4 – i am the exact same way. sometimes i even get nervous because i don’t have a choice but to do it.
#5 – awesome. you don’t even have to remember what you drink! perfect!
i love your modest pool. we have an $8 one. i wanted it small enough so i wouldn’t have to move it too often to keep it from ruining the grass. ha!
#8 – you make a good point. i’m the same way though, as your kiddos.
#10 – you need to find a way to get paid for doing laundry. just saying.
i hope you have a lovely week! i am going to write you soon… i have much to share.
You look lovely with the mohawk my dear!
I love the pictures of your kiddos in the pool. My kids don’t like to be splashed either. Hmmm, well you are in the pool. I can’t make them understand.
All of the Barista’s I visit know me by name. One day I might show up and they will have my coffee ready before I even order it. After all, they see me every day!
Happy Monday!
The kids look like theyre having so much fun!! My kids love our little intex pool too 🙂
And you do look fab with your crazy hair
I participated in Miscellany Monday too if you want to come visit us. 🙂

Cute post…and the hair…hey…I bet the wind felt great!
Now, there’s nothing wrong with posting about laundry. I’m getting rather proficient at it. Canning beans isn’t that bad either. The hair- do- yes, well, we all have bad hair days! I think I’d rather post my canned green beans! Hair has been a real issue lately. I think my hair is getting crankier as it gets older!
Blessings!
I am your newest follower by the way 🙂 Nice to meet you.
What you need to do is let the kids stay outside a bit longer so that the clothes dry!
Praying in Seattle as always!
Isaiah 25:8-9 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it. And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

Hi Rachel,
I just stopped by from He and Me+3. I love your words and your transparency, and your desire to put God first in all. Thank you for sharing from your heart. I love canning, but haven’t done it in about 4 years….so the beans, well I am quite impressed and wanting some tucked away in my pantry too. The laundry, can so relate…4 boys here and a sweet little girl (our 4th son, 6th child went home to be with the Lord in 2002.) And we homeschool and right now I am in denial too that the year is almost before us.
Glad I stopped by this morning. Hope to see you again soon.
Much love in Christ,
Stacy
You’re rockin’ that mohawk. I think I like you even more now. 😉
I’m in denial about school too. So, can I come over and swim?
Love the hair! So glad the pool provides entertainment for both you and the kids!:o) And, I cannot even imagine how much laundry piles up at your house because it piles pretty high here with just Hubby and I. Always enjoy your entries! Hugs!
