#fridayfaves
dear weather.
I’m just writing to remind you that is is
only October
and yesterday it snowed for quite a bit.
I know we had a drought this summer,
but truly hold off on the snow for at least a month.
dear snow.
You are beautiful
almost every time you fall.
Even in the spring.
Although I much prefer seeing you this time of year versus then.
But still, hold off – at least till November – I’ve got yard work to finish.
dear Caleb.
Watching you play in the falling snow yesterday
brought joy to my morning.
Who would think that such a little thing
would create such happiness?
You’re amazing.
Your wonder brings me wonder.
dear Hannah,
Thanks for taking these pictures of the snow and the kids.
By the way, I had no idea you were taking this one of me
trying to capture snow with an ipod camera.
Which, in case you all are wondering, is almost impossible.

dear readers.
Thank you for your amazing outpouring of support this week
for two of my posts
Dear Mom Who Feels Like She Doesn’t Measure Up <–link
and
this one
Why it is Okay to Take a Mom Break <–link
I really appreciate your kind comments and encouraging words.
So to you, thank you.
dear Chloe.
I love that you are cooking again.
Your meals are divine.
And I love even more time spent together
cooking with you in the kitchen.
Those moments matter.
dear cuisenaire rods that I purchased 15 years ago.
You still bring hours and hours and hours
of play {and learning} into our home.

Who would have thought that colored rods would be so amazing?

dear children reading on the couch.
{with the wall behind that I painted and still haven’t put back all my black/white pictures.}
You are so beyond wonderful.
I am so thankful for moments like these captured.
They’re imprinted in my heart forever.
dear Samuel.
Could you have been any cuter in the snow yesterday?
For you this is still so new
so amazing
and I love how joyful and excited you were to just go outside.
Even though, in my opinion, it was quite cold.
And those things, those sweet notes and lovely pictures, are this week’s favorite things.

I loved your post to moms this week.
Thank you!
Here for my words of comfort for the week – knowing I’m not the only one thinking this mom thing is fabulous! I’m sorry for the snow though – so not looking forward to that!
I can’t believe it already snowed! Lovely pictures, and I’m always encouraged by your posts, thanks!

Loved your “letters” and your photos! Precious. I too love the snow falling, but am bidding it to wait another month for many reasons! So sweet to see your kids enjoying the wonder…
This really made my heart smile!

Really inspirational post. Whao..it’s started snowing already at your place.
I agree–hold the snow for a month! It was 37 degrees at soccer this morning. Brrrr!

Oh what comfort these words give! The Lord knows exactly what you’re going through and will be with you every moment of every day. Keep your eyes on Him! Praying!
Isaiah 49:13-16a Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted. But Zion said, The LORD hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me. Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands…

Know that you’re in my thoughts and prayers!
Lamentations 3:21-25 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
