1~My brother, Joel, has this awesome dog — a Boston Terrier and Chihauhau mix called a Bo-Chi, named Leo J {which, by the way, is my bro’s name spelled backwards} that we all love. And I mean love. Like we don’t want him to leave when we get to watch him. Here he is — adorable — could you blame us for not loving that cute face?
2~Of course, now my kids want a dog. I’ve got seven kids and honestly, at this point, cannot add a dog. That doesn’t stop them from thinking of names for their “potential” dream dog. Elijah’s name? Floofer. Not kidding. I’d almost get a dog just so that I could name a dog Floofer.
3~Elijah had a great birthday. I love four year olds. They’re a bit over the throw-it-on-the-floor all out tantrum. They’re potty trained. Can go outside and play and stay in the yard. And, if they’re like my ‘Lijee they’re funny. He’s hilarious and is always making me laugh. I mean, let me remind you — Floofer.
4~I’m starting to get to know some of the other patients at my physical therapy for my shoulder. I must add that I am one of the youngest patients there, by let’s see, perhaps a good 30-40 years. Hee hee hee. I love listening to the conversations between the trainer and my fellow trainees. I’ll be doing some intense shoulder presses and they’ll be chatting about some crazy cable tv show on MTV. Not kidding.
5~Shoulder therapy? Not sure yet if I’ll be avoiding that surgery, but I am working really hard. My left arm is ripped with muscles. Okay, not really. It’s sore. Does that count? And see that cute Samuel? I’m not to carry him with my left arm — that’s tough as I’m right-handed and need that hand!
6~I’m getting my homeschool schedule and books ready for the fall. One thing I’m super thrilled about? I’m going to be using Geography Matters Paths of Settlement for Gracie and Chloe. And I’m going to be pulling in Brennan and Caleb for parts. I’m reviewing their curriculum and will be writing about it throughout the year. Let me just start with this — when the box came and we began looking through the amazing materials Gracie started begging to start school now. Love that — and grateful for Geography Matters for igniting that learning fire.
7~This is my eleventh year homeschooling. Yes, eleven. It has had it’s ups and downs, but over all I’ve been so blessed with the years spent with my children. This year? So thrilled. Do I have all of my materials? No. But, I know that they will come — and I’m going to keep surrendering it to the Lord. He’s answered in amazing ways already {see above picture for proof.}
8~And finally, thank you all for the votes for the Alpha Omega Social Media Awards. I’m really honored. It’s not everyday that one sees their face next to amazing writers and bloggers like Ann Voskamp or Sally Clarkson. Anyways, I’d love your vote again, as I’d be so incredibly blessed to actually win as it’s an entire year’s worth of curriculum. That curriculum? Would go to my Hannah for 10th grade. So, if you’d like to vote for good ol’me one more time here’s the link — (I’m in most inspirational and shutter happy — click open in a new tab so that you can leave me a sweet comment here. I love your kind words. I really do!) http://www.aophomeschooling.com/homeschool-social-media-awards/
And that’s that. That’s the Monday list of my crazy stuff. Homeschooling, and Elijah, and my shoulder, and more. How about you? Your weekend? What would you name a dog? I’d love to hear. I’m linking up with my amazing real life bloggy friend Carissa. And, if you need to smile just remember….
Floofer.

My boys want a dog to name it Jarvis. We’re big Ironman fans around here. 😀
OMG! That dog is SO cute! I have a rat terrier/ mini pin mix that looks similar. I am a sucker for dogs about that size. TOTAL sucker.

haha, Floofer! That is so cute. 🙂 Dogs are fun. 😉
I’ve been voting for you everyday and hope you win! ♥
Floofer!? that’s hilarious! Happy Belated Birthday to Elijah, I’m off to vote 🙂
My dream dog was named Barnabus. 🙂 And then we actually GOT that dog and he wasn’t quite so dreamy. His mommy was a lab and his daddy was a Chesapeake Bay. Can you say HUGE??? Barnabus weighed in at around 70 pounds when he was 7 months old and he was already much bigger than Tucker was at that time.
He ate half of our barn. Literally. Chewed off as much of the 1″x4″ trim as he could reach. Destroyed all the wiring (THREE times) on a trailer we had parked by the barn. And when he chewed the fog lights off The Hubster’s work truck….he had to go. 🙁 He sure was cute though. 🙂
Floofer…that is the best, as is that face. 4 is such a fun age. My Caleb is just so goofy and says the cutest things. Look at you with 11 years! I am in awe of teachers and all they do to prepare…and you are preparing multiple learning levels. I will be sure you keep you and your students in my prayers. I love when a child is so eager to learn and I know that has to come from your influence. And look out…you’ll have Jennifer Aniston arms before you know it! Keep us posted.
I am going to be thinking about and laughing that the name Floofer all day now.
Pictures of Samuel just melt my heart. Every one of them. Adorable. But Elijah’s grin in that first one is so cute!
It took us forever to name our dog. Guess we should’ve asked your kids. We finally settled on Butter (he’s a yellow lab) but that’s not nearly as much fun as Floofer!
okay that is too funny about LEO J!!!!!Hysterical!! And my parents never let us name our dogs with the fear of having a dog named Princess Sparkle or something 🙂
Oh my, that photo is the perfect “mommy, can we please, please, please have a dog!” look. So cute.
JDaniel names all his stuffed animals by their species with a y at the end. We have Liony, Rabbity, Teddy, Kangarooy.
Just voted. 🙂
Voted. Check. You must win. Must, I tell you.
You also must now get a dog. Floofer has got to be put to use. We have a Boston terrier and they’re great with kids. Ours never barks. Win-win-win. Can’t wait to see pics of Floofer Martin. ; ) it’s too stinking funny that your brother’s dog is his name backwards. Pure Hilarity!!!!
That shot of Elijah is so so cute. Age four sounds pretty awesome. I’m looking forward to the post potty training phase.
You may be sore now, but you will be buff later!!! I bet your young pretty self is the highlight of those pt’s day. : )
It’s a shame that Samuel can only be held in one of your arms. It’s hard not to swoop up something so adorable with big open arms!!!
Your curriculum sounds like treasures!!! And 11 years?! You need a trophy. Now. Go momma!
Love ya all!
Hehehe…I picture Foofer being a white fuzzy poodle like dog. Precious!
We started school back today and I have to say I wished that I could home school. My oldest daughter would never do it in a million years. She’s one of those that won’t hardly listen to our instructions but rather those given to her by her teachers. Which is ok by me but then again I’d love to home school. ::sigh::
That’s hilarious about the older people and the trainers talking about shows on MTV! Wow…I don’t even watch that stuff…and I watch a lot of junk tv. That’s just a little too over my junk radar.
I do hope that the therapy ends up working out and you don’t have to have the surgery!
And I think 4 is my favorite age! I’m a Para in a 4 year old preK class and I have to say I love it! Those little ones are just too precious at times.
Voted for you. You were doing soo good too!
I forget you have so many children because Samuel is the one I think about most, then Gracie (because we have a Gracie too) and your Hannah with all those beautiful pictures.
I noticed that Wal-Mart just started carrying more Gluten Free pasta, not that yucky brown rice pasta but a yummy one…by Heartland I think.
Your doggie name made me smile~

Floofer! You’ve gotta get a dog!
Another reason for pulling up a new tab when you vote…when you can’t remember the categories and have to come back here and find out!
Continuing to lift up prayers!
Psalms 120:1-3 In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me. Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue. What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue?

Shoulder pain…OUCH!! Boyfriend fell down the stairs of his apartment last Thanksgiving and cracked his shoulder socket so now sometimes his arm just sort of “falls out” of place. Hard for him to weld and do construction work (and just as a man in general) with so much pain going on!! He’s doing physical therapy to try and avoid surgery while it heals but it’s slooooow going. Keep him in your prayers and we’ll be praying for you as well!!
