This month, for Moms of Master Books, Our family was blessed to review two items — the book The Day the World Went Wacky by Janine Suter and a 60 Piece 3D Puzzle Globe.
First — this excellent book, The Day the World Went Wacky, is a creative telling of the Fall and then redemption found through Jesus. It starts off with a little boy at the dentist wondering why bad things happen. And, let me tell you, I get that question. There have been times in my own life where, I too, have pondered the hard parts of life. In fact, just this morning Caleb, who is reading the book above, asked us why Samuel had to have Celiac. We both told him to remember the book The Day the World Went Wacky and how this world is not perfect, and that there is sin, and because of that there are hard things. Like Celiac Disease.
It goes on to retell the story of the Fall but then leads to Jesus and why we need Jesus in our lives. My kids greatly enjoyed the book and I love how it begins with the simple question of why there is bad in the world and ends with how Jesus saved us. Praise to Him!
Second — this globe. Which my kids begged and begged and begged to put together. Chloe finally won, after, of course, I was able to snap some obligatory pictures of the box. This is a heavy duty globe. I was concerned because it was a puzzle, but let me tell you it is DURABLE. My boys just might have played catch in the living room in the middle of winter with that globe.
Isn’t that puzzle awesome? Love the precision in which it’s to be created — which is a beautiful example of how our world was created by the Lord. Now, it takes a bit of work to put it together, but once it’s done — amazing!
On to the giveaway. There will be two winners — one winner will get the book The Day the World Went Wacky and the other will receive the Puzzle Globe. I love the idea of that book! What an awesome and gentle way to open up more discussions with your children about the world. And that globe puzzle rocks! J loves puzzles and is a geography junkie these days so either one would be a great addition to our homeschool classroom.

I kinda want the puzzle. And the book.
I love the book, but the puzzle looks amazing too…however, with little ones I’m sure the book would last much longer. 🙂
Oh wow! They both look great but I would love to win the globe. It is perfect for our 9 yr old son who loves puzzles! I love this kind of hands on lesson about God’s creation! Sooo neat!
I love them both…but I guess I’d choose the globe.
They both look wonderful. I think I would choose the globe.

I would be happy to have either, but since my little is still little, I think the book is more age appropriate!
they are both awesome…my kids would love the rockin’ globe puzzle
The Lord uses everything that happens for a purpose. Praying!
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

just minutes ago, my little guy was asking me about my blog, & if i talk about Jesus in my blog. (love. that. BOY!) and as i was reading this post, he came up behind me, saw the picture, & said, “wow, they’re talking about Jesus, too.” 🙂 so while it would be a tough choice (b/c they both look wonderful!), i’d probably opt for the book. btw, happy to be joining you on FB now!
