I love this photo. The juxtaposition between the clear skies and the approaching summer storm is awesome. More than that, I love the urgency that can be felt — as if I could relive the intensity of the moment before the first lightening bolt raced across the sky.
Thunderstorms are one of my favorite things about summer.
Now that it’s fall, I’m saying good bye to them one last time.
Thunderstorms remind me of God.
He’s all powerful. He can start and stop a storm with one word. With a whisper.
I need to cling to Him.
I can’t outrun things, but I can pray. And believe.

Amazing drama in this photo! Nature has centre stage! And love the wisp of water drops across the windscreen separating the clear and dark sky!
Love this!…the post and the photo. While growing up, I loved watching storms pass across the plains. And, yes, they remind me of God too. New follower and visiting from Aspire. Happy Wednesday! :o) Larri at Seams Inspired
Beautiful…our women’s bible study is on Genesis…this reminds me of the first verse.
In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth………just the first few words…in the beginning GOD!!!
that is a great picture and it does say so much about our God!
Beautiful post!
Such a powerful image, too. 🙂
Thank you!
Awesome photo!!! I totally agree with you – thunderstorms remind me of God too.
OH yes, this is a very familiar scene– we live in the midwest too. Thunderstorms are very much a reminder that God is in control.
Beautiful post, and I love the picture. Thank you for the comment on my blog!
Have a wonderful day!

stunning, rachel. what awe-ing power there is in a thunderstorm. you are so right… reminds me of our God.
that’s a great reminder of how life is. And just like after a great storm, a rainbow appears.
Great shot – but even better – a reminder of our awesome Creator!! His creation should always draw us to praising Him. Thanks, Rachel 🙂
Great photo!
Know that I’m always here praying!
Psalms 33:20-22 Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.
