Yikes! I can’t believe it’s Monday again. You would start to think that I would run out of random things to say, but alas, I just keep having more to write about. It’s almost if Miscellany Monday is fueling my randomness. And that deserves another YIKES!
1) A garage sale is a tremendous amount of work. And while you are working terribly hard you get to meet many of your neighbors — which is a fabulous blessing.
2) All of my kids, especially Hannah and Chloe, rejoiced when the garage sale was over. Literally. I think there was some jumping, running around and audible sighs of relief.
3) If you do a garage sale do not use the round stickers that Target sells specifically for sales. While they may be cute, colorful and easy — they do not remove. You will spend much precious time (while chatting with your neighbors) trying to gracefully rip off the small dime sized tag while not tearing the item that you are desperately trying to sell for 50 cents. The whole time with a delightful smile on your face–while inside feeling quite annoyed.
4) I will be planting again today. I went to a garden center and found 3 azalea bushes on closeout for $3 each. That is within my budget.
5) Last fall (and every fall) I let the kids take turns and smash their carved pumpkin in my garden. It’s mega uber fun. In fact, so much so that my neighbor kids now bring their pumpkins over. It’s a one-at-a-time cheering fest as the lucky child gets to bash their on the verge of rotting pumpkin with an old wooden bat. This summer in my garden, deep in my beans, I noticed these HUGE leaves. Vine type leaves. It took a couple of moments of pondering before I realized that they are pumpkin plants. 4 of them. Hmmmmm….wonder where they came from???
6) I am keeping the pumpkin plants. As soon as my peas are done, I will pull them out and start wrapping the vine around the trellis. Love this! Want to see where they came from?
7) Hannah (aspire) was in the paper this week showcasing her performance in ballet. She was spring rain — and oh so graceful.
8) Stay tuned for a give-away this week. I was given an opportunity to review a Teething Bling Necklace. I will tell you that they are awesome. And I have one to give away —
Have a great Monday! Be sure to write your own random and link up.

I’ll remember NOT to use those stickers, Rachel!
Congratulations to Hannah for making it into the paper! I’m sure she did a lovely job. 🙂

I’ve heard a lot of bad reviews of yard sale stickers lately! Good to know! Your halloween pics are so cute…the kids look like they’re having so much fun. Alright, Christian is under the desk digging through God only knows in the trashcan, so let me go!

Yes, I found out the hard way about those stickers. So exciting that Hannah made the paper! Have an awesome Monday!
I am glad your yard sale went well 🙂 even though it was probably very exhausting. I will keep in mind never to use those stickers, though 😉
How wonderful that Hannah made the paper.
Have a blessed Monday,
Kate
Thank You for stopping by my blog!
I used those stickers last summer for a sale & I thought it was just me not able to get them off! ha! Guess they really are a pain…
Happy Monday (:
Too bad about those stickers! Congrats to Hannah on the ballet! And the pumpkin bashing. That’s funny how now you have plants! Hopefully something will grow out of it!

I once used those little round stickers in a simple project with my 3 year~olds in which they covered a fat pencil with them…they turned out cute and polka~dotted, and they loved that they could do it themselves. As one little girl was making hers, she said, “I’m just so happy!” 🙂
But I’ll remember not to use them if I expect to remove them!
Loved this because we are needing to do a garage sale and everything you posted is what I was thinking.
Oh, love the pumpkins…my son shot them with arrows…and yes, in spring came the plants…too fun, both times. The heat got to the plants and we didn’t get any pumpkins.
Thanks for the smile,
Janette
You are SO right…garage sales are a pain! I hate them so much that I take all our stuff to Good Will. I love your randoms!
Pumpkin plants! Awesome! For some reason, my computer wasn;t loading your pictures but that’s okay! I imagine that they look neat!
I want to grow a garden so bad. But I don’t even have time to weed my flower beds. 🙁 The weeds have taken over BIG time! And the homeowner’s association is going to fine me. Ha. Ugh.
Oh, garage sales are a lot of work but it is so nice to get rid of all the “stuff.” And, I always use masking tape, it comes right off! I love reading about you and your family. Blessings to you!
Love the smashing pumpkins idea! What fun! And, you got an unexpected treat from it.
Garage sales do seem like a lot of work! When we moved last year, we thought about having one, but we just decided to call the Salvation Army instead. (Mostly because we just didn’t have time to do a garage sale before the move.)
Oh, that’s *wonderful* how Hannah made it into the paper! How exciting. You must be one proud mom. 🙂
Hope you had a great Monday, Rachel! I’m such a late commenter, but better late than never, right? 😉
~ Lots of Love,

Garage Sales are a pain! They are wonderful in that they give you an opportunity to get rid of stuff you don’t need which sort of unclutters your life a bit, but man they are hard work. I’m glad for you – that it’s over. 🙂
Have a great week!

rummage sales are SO MUCH WORK! but with the money i made i was able to pay for dance class’ first tution. so i was happy. :)i just used masking tape to label our stuff. that worked for the most part.
