dear samuel
how can you look so cute all the time?
i mean look at those eyes
those big baby blues
you melt your momma’s heart.
dear grace,
when you leap from the swing
into the air on a warm spring afternoon
you look like you’re flying
and don’t have a worry in the world.
dear my sweet friend Maria’s adorable almost two month old daughter Emma,
I could hold you for hours.
And I’ll make a bunch of silly faces at you
and not care that I make a pouty face
because you are just way too adorable.
dear herbs growing on my deck,
{that’s stevia and dill}
you make me happy
in that better homes and garden
feeling like I could be on hgtv way
and by the way I love how you smell when I walk by.
dear grace,
{again}
I think you made your sister proud when
she let you take pictures with her old camera
and you told her you need to switch the iso.
dear readers,
just so you know I’m normal
this is what my family room looked like
at 9:15 am
{and yes there’s a $40 Wii Remote on the floor…sigh…}
after it was perfectly clean the night before.
dear little boy who is showing me his project,
It’s absolutely perfect
I love it how it’s important for you to share
and for you to be part of whatever we’re doing in our family.
You are so loved.
dear window in my living room,
overlooking my front porch
I am so grateful for your panes
{even with the smudges and hand prints and more}
ever single morning I stare out of you
and watch the world come awake
while I wait for my family to wake.
while I wait for my family to wake.
dear brennan showing me his taekwondo moves,
you are awesome
and I’m so proud of you
and how hard you work to master your combinations.
dear caleb,
working so hard to get the wax off of the new crayons we made

I just love your heart so much
and how eager you are to learn
and how much you want to spend time with me.
dear my family
you all are so dear to me
and
fill my heart with so much joy.
I am truly thankful
for each of you and to be your mother
and that very soon those raspberries will be in bloom
for you to all eat – especially since you all check them every day. 🙂

Those sweet moments, captured and written so beautifully…..
love the swing picture. so pretty. and samuel’s eyes. melt me why dontchya (speaking with a minnesota accent, of course!). : ) grace with the camera is so presh. i think you have a bunch of talented kiddos and i’m pretty sure whatever they put their hands to will be a success. oh herbs! i love thee. my mom used to have a fresh herb garden and she spoiled me with it. i might have to beg her to start one again. mmm! happy friday, my sweet friend. xo!
Love that leap from the swing picture!
And the family room pic? I feel your pain. I never cease to be amazed how quickly one room goes from Grandma-clean to bulldozer-ready. 🙂
It’s been so busy at our house lately and I haven’t been around your blog much the past few weeks, but I ALWAYS appreciate your wise words and heart of gratitude. Thanks, Rachel!
This was such a wonderful post to read. genuine and true!

Thanks for sharing a bit of your heart with us – and also, the lovely photos!
What a precious post and the way it was written and the photographs were simply beautiful! You just made my day!
Awesome photos and words — I feel like I know and love all of you!
Your children are lovely and the way you captured your love in pictures and words just incredible. Have a wonderful weekend and summer.
Cute post! Your kiddos seem to be lively and fun. What do you do with the stevia plant? How is it used? I’d love to know.
Those eyes always get to me!
Can’t believe we’re into June already!
Continuing to lift up prayers!
Psalms 31:5, 7-8 Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth (7-8) I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities; And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large room.
