A very short and very sweet friday favorite things this week.
I’m writing this on the maternity floor of the hospital…
…because tonight, I’m staying over night with my lovely friend…
and that? That is a gift. A gift, a blessing for me.
To spend time and rejoice over new life.
Who needs sleep anyways?
To spend time and rejoice over new life.
Who needs sleep anyways?
here are my favorite things
sweet brothers
playing together in the morning
when one wakes up first they ask for the other to wake up.
that is sweet for their momma’s heart.

gardening
I wait all winter for the snow to melt
planning what I will grow.
There is such a gift in being able to tend the soil
and work in the dirt with one’s hands.
teaching my children to love gardening
seed by seed by seed
peas, carrots, and beans
this week Elijah helped me scoop the
dirt and carefully place those baby peas
little hands working
sigh
what can be better than passing on something you love
to those you dearly love
to those you dearly love
martial arts boys
Brennan and Caleb
started taekwondo
this week
{I know it’s their favorite thing}
as well as mine.
knitting
lall week Gracie has been busy
knitting away
over and under and around
all she wanted for Christmas
were those knitting needles
and some yarn
{pink, of course…}
secretly I think she wishes she lived during Little House times.
Who doesn’t love Laura Ingalls Wilder’s stories?
the Hershey’s bunny
and who doesn’t love chocolate?
how about that same pea planting boy
named Elijah Nathaniel
who just happened to open up my Hershey’s Chocolate Bunny
the Blissdom Bunny
Hershey’s Chocolate Factory was at Blissdom
and they let us design our own Easter basket filled with goodies
That bunny? The remaining treat.
We might have enjoyed the basket the week before Easter.
Thanks, Hersheys!
Life
Sweet life.

I’ve never stayed at the maternity ward w/o having a new baby of my own – it must be a delightfully restful wonderful time! 🙂 Enjoy your time with your friend and her baby. Newborns lose that squishy feel and wonderful smell so quickly…almost makes me want another one. 🙂
At the beginning of the day, after devotions, we ask the children their goals for the day…at the end of the day, we ask if they reached them and their favorite moments….those moments are always filled…with the little things!
Beautiful pictures this week! I can’t wait to get our garden started.
aww! so CUTE! your boys are going to have a blast with martial arts. and you will feel all safe around them… they will be your little protectors! : ) that samuel picture is stunning. and go grace, go!!! how precious.
i miss friday faves already. today was my scheduled day for the “He Heard Hannah” review and giveaway! : )
have a lovely Easter weekend.
Hubby is doing a raised garden this year and I’m trying my hand at growing herbs. We shall see………
I bet that little baby knows that he is being held by some mighty special hands that has held a few of her own. How sweet!
Always enjoy the beautiful photos!
Blessings for a wonderful Easter!
What a great friend… happy newborn snuggles.
Okay, your kids are super adorable. I love knitting, too. Your daughter will get a lot of enjoyment out of that, hopefully. Oh yeah, I’ve sometimes wished that I was Laura Ingall’s Wilder, too 🙂 Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather 🙂
Beautiful pictures…the simple things in life are often the best. My 10 year old daughter and I LOVE Little House..we are reading the books and watching the old series on DVD. It’s SO awesome!
Have a Happy Easter!
So many beautiful reminders of new life in this post! May you and all your readers experience the joy of new life in Him this Resurrection Sunday!
