dear favorite things on Friday,
this week I’ve decided to
write little notes
about simple things
simple joys
in my life that are my lovely favorites.
dear little boys flying kites,
I love you.
I love how you cheered for me
even when the kite wouldn’t fly.
I loved running around like a kid hoping to get the kite in the air.
And I loved the joy when it stayed up for 38 seconds.
dear starbucks coffee sitting on my table,
thank you for making things like caramel macchiatos
and vanilla lattes
and chai tea
and making my day just a bit more joyful.
dear sprouts on my windowsill,
thank you for being a bit of green
while the outside world stays brown.
And thank you for growing
two little boys were truly hoping you would.
dear little boy with a bandage on his toe,
next time when your momma tells you to wear shoes outside
I think that you will listen.
I’m glad that your little toe has healed.
dear family room window,
right now
you are clean
and for today
I will enjoy you
without fingerprints.
dear paper craft remnants found in the office of mine,
you are beautiful
you are creativity scraps and remnants
left by my almost eleven year old daughter Grace.
You are a favorite of hers
and mine.
dear strawberries,
it was about time you were back in our stores.
dear soccer playing son of mine,
who also eats strawberries
you are a blessing
and your smile makes me smile.
dear buds of spring,
you’ve come very early for minnesota,
but I am happy to tell you that I’m happy to see you.
Even though my allergies are bugging me just a wee little bit.
