Last year I started a very simple meme called The ABC’s of Thanks and posted it the day before Thanksgiving. I was surprised how many bloggers participated and thought that I would once again put the link up again. And you know, I’m resting now since I’m recovering from that shoulder surgery. And yes, I’m thankful for it….even though it’s pretty painful right now. 🙂
It’s really a simple act of gratitude. Write a list using the alphabet and then list one item that you are grateful for that starts with the given letter. Here’s mine:
A – Apples. Anything with them – sauce, crisp, pies, dried, fresh. How can it not be a thanks? Such an awesome appealing food.
B – BOGO’s at the coffee shop. Actually, BOGO’s anytime and almost anywhere. 🙂
C – Chef Alain’s Gluten Free Cookbook – make sure to enter to win your own copy in my previous post.
D – Dancing daughters who love ballet.
E – Eggs. We go through 2-3 dozen a week. Cheap food for a big family.
F – Food Network. Our go-to channel for evening entertainment.
G – Gingerbread Lattes from Starbucks. And just gingerbread – my favorite cookie.
H – Healing. This past year I’ve seen my Samuel thrive health wise since being diagnosed with Celiac Disease – and being gluten free. Hmmm…I’ll have to make gluten free gingerbread this year.
I – Iced coffees. Of any kind. But, only in the summer.
J – Joy. Of course.
K – Kids running around my house. I love them so much.
L – Laughter. Lot’s of it — laughter is really good for the soul — I love watching my kids laugh.
M – Matching mittens. Or socks. No words needed to explain.
N – New grill. This spring we purchased it. And have used it all the time – and now in the snow.
O – Oreck. Again, not many words needed. I am grateful to them for my vacuum. And clean floors.
P – Philippians. Yep, copying my answer from last year. But, I love that book of the Bible!
Q – Quick brewing Keurig coffee {wow, there’s a coffee theme going on this year, well and Q is hard.}
R- Relevant Conference. And my sponsors – Sarah Mae and Ashley Pichea.
S – Sling for my arm. I’m sure by today I’ll be grateful for it!
T – Twitter. Love it. Find me there. @finding_joy
U – Upcoming opportunities for my blog. So excited to share!
V – Vacations. Like the one listed for W and where you can find those chairs.
W – Woodland – which is the resort we go to every single summer. Love.
X – the letter. Life would be boring without you ol’letter x.
Y – You guys. Thanks for reading, for each sweet comment, and for your prayers. Blessed.
Z – Zany answers that everyone will come up with for the letter Z. And X.
Blessings friends!! And Happy Thanksgiving to you all!!

Thankful lists make me realize all of the things I don’t even think of to be thankful for…like our grill 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! I hope you have a wonderful day full of God, food and family.
In Him,

Rachel, I so enjoyed yours and thought, hum, that sounds interesting. So I made mine, it really blessed my soul. Hope your shoulder is healing and you’re not in too much pain and that your Thanksgiving is a blessing to you and yours. In His Name. Nona@gr8day2save.com
I’m so sorry I didn’t know about this before I posted my own Thankful List but I’ll sure remember for next year.
I love, love your list and I so hope that your shoulder is feeling so much better. I so well remember the pain following my shoulder surgery and the many months of rehab. But, it was “good as new” afterwards.
Blessings for a great weekend!
Great post! I found your ABCs of Thanks through a blog I follow, and I decided to add my own list to my Thanksgiving post. 🙂 (I attached a link.) Such a great idea!
And your list is fabulous. I love apples – particularly the apple pie Mom made for Thanksgiving, yum! I absolutely love to laugh (we do a lot of laughing in my family!), and vacations are awesome. 🙂 Love it!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Hmm, I loved reading through you list. Your whole family is so precious and beautiful, not going to lie. 🙂
i made it! better late than never.
