…can’t kick this fever of his. A little while ago he was sitting at 104.2 degrees. I hate that! When my olders are sick they can tell me what’s wrong, but when they’re so little…sigh…it’s a guessing game. One that I don’t like.
Samuel and me
So, following the advice of my facebook friends, I went up to the local grocery store and purchased some baby Motrin. I’ve come to the conclusion that on a Friday night it seems that this grocery store is also a bit of a hangout for those younger youth. I’m not sure what’s so fabulous about wandering the aisles of frozen food, meat and dry goods; but alas, they were all there. Hanging around. While I was meandering around, with a red-eye rimmed baby, pushing a cart with napkins, Motrin, moose-track ice cream (it was kind of needed at this point), dishwasher cleaner, and orange juice. Oh yeah, and another pack of Keurig Caribou Coffee K-Cups. All while wearing my gray sweat pants. Yes. I sunk to the level of mom, wandering the aisles at 10pm in her mega-casual clothes. Oh, and with wet hair. Can you just say, “classy?” 🙂
Oh well, at least I’ve got some Motrin now. Samuel’s temperature is now 103.1 degrees. I gave him Tylenol 90 minutes ago. Wouldn’t you think it would be lower than that? (man, I feel like a rookie). I’m planning on giving him some Motrin at 11 pm. I feel so bad for the poor babe…he’s so so hot…and so so twitchy. Come on baby, fight that fever!
(ok…when would you bring him in to be seen? I never ever ever ever know. Just looking for advice….again.)

I have 4 babies myself and they all had high fevers in one point in time. I know how it feels to see your little angel not well. I will pray that he gets better. A luke warm bath might help. My prayers are with you and your little one.

p.s. if you don’t feel good about it you can always take him in for a peace of mind. I have done that many of times. LOL

Oh your poor little buddy! Its the worst when they are sick! We’re praying he gets better soon!
I am praying! How about putting him in the tub? And you are doing a good thing by alternating the Tylonol with the Motrin. Praying for you too!
poor guy. i hope he feels better in the morning.
Aw, bless him! I hate when sweet little ones are sick. I will definitely be keeping you in my prayers.
I have always been told to do the alternating thing with tylenol and motrin. So far, it has always worked for us.
Oh, I’m so sorry he’s still fighting that fever! Hope he feels better *very* soon!!

I would probably bring him in if his fever was that high and didn’t go down after a few hours on the Motrin. I like to be better safe than sorry when the kids are so wee.
since i’m a first time mom, i would bring him in right away! but, i’m sure you know way better than i do! so sorry he’s still feeling icky. poor babe!!! i was wandering the aisles last night too. you know you’re a mom when friday nights find you at the grocery store! praying for your sweet samuel!
I’d probably take him in. When they are that little and the fever is that high I like to get my pediatrician’s thoughts on what’s going on. Plus I’ve had those times as a mom where I’ve thought they could fight something off on their own without going to the doctor, didn’t take them in, only to have them get worse & find out it was something I should have had them seen for anyway. I hope little Samuel feels better soon.
By the way, I love your late-night grocery trip story. I think you are doing great if the only time you go to the grocery in your mega-casual clothes is when you have a sick baby, late at night. Mega-casual seems to be my permanent wardrobe these days. lol.
It really is terrible to see our little ones sick. I just want to take it all from them.
I would alternate, too. You can do it every 3 hours when you alternate. I hope he gets better very soon!
Oh. Poor Samuel-baby. 🙁
I would bring him in. Just my opinion. I am paranoid, haha.
I’ll pray for him, and you.
