Raindrops on roses
and whiskers on kittens.
Bright copper kettles
and warm woolen mittens…
I love The Sound of Music.
And I love the sentiment even more behind that song.
Not only was she soothing the children
but she was finding joy and peace for herself.
That’s what Friday Favorite Things is about – finding those favorite things.
In the midst of it all.
In the midst of it all.
Here’s my list.
Two of my little boys together
Elijah and Samuel
sharing a laugh and needing to wear the same clothes
so they look like twins.
Go vikes!
I’m laughing at how long it took to me to get the
lone hornet
out of our kitchen.
We even tried to bait it with a
pool of honey on cardboard.
{that didn’t work — we pushed him towards the door and he escaped}
rainy and cool days
fresh vegetables to chop and prepare
and the New England Pot Roast
that we made for History
as part of our Trail Guide to Learning curriculum through
Geography Matters
and loving it even more
four hours later when it was finished
{fork tender, I’ll tell ya}
Recipe will be coming
and it will become your fave as well.
Loving moments
spent with my sweet sweet sweet Samuel
and the look of wonder on his face.
He did see the doctor yesterday and he does have a significant wheeze
they’ve put him on 4/daily nebs and if needed 2 at night.
I am praying it helps that cute face.
Flowers brought home for me
by my dear husband after a long day.
I never grow tired of fresh flowers
sitting on my kitchen table
and my wonderful boy Caleb
who cares so much about his family
and gives me hugs everyday.
Love him.
and finally, one of my most favorite moments of the week
came when Hannah made
gluten free pumpkin bars.
They are divine.
And almost gone. 🙂

Such a sweet post. I love this. I love that it inspires me to look for favorite moments throughout the week. I love that it inspires to find joy in the simple things. Thank you!
Beautiful!
I am eagerly awaiting your review of the Trail Guide to learning. I’ve been drooling over the catalog, wondering why I didn’t know about it to use this year, wondering if I could use it for 4th & 5th next year. I’d also love to know what it doesn’t have – poetry, Dulaire books? I hope you let us know that too.
i want some of that pumpkin stuff!!! they look and sound so tempting! you better share that recipe, too.
: )
i’m so glad your man brought you flowers. you deserve them.
samuel’s hair looks a little bit surfer-dude-ish and i love it. he’s such a cute two year old. i’m sorry about the nebs four times/day. that is a lot of work for both of you. praying it helps him a ton.
the twin’s vikings (ha! that’s funny!!!) outfits are so cute. sage wants to be just like hunter, too. only i refuse to let her dress like a boy. but she adores her little big brother!
we are a pot roast lovin’ family! excited about a good recipe! normally i just put one together in my head… so this will be exceptionally good for us. ; )
