It’s summer, and even though it’s time to rest we all know fall is creeping right around the corner. And with fall? Expenses – school, clothes, extra curricular activities, things to replace, fix, change and more. I know I’m looking at my list of homeschool curriculum needs and have begun budgeting expenses. So, if you’re like me, a bit extra cash in your wallet would be a huge blessing and a great way to kick off the fall season!
Today, I’m blessed to be a part of a group of bloggers who have teamed up to offer a $500 cash giveaway via paypal. No paypal? Don’t worry you can choose an Amazon or Target {wouldn’t that be fun} giftcard instead. Best part? It’s super easy to enter.

I would buy a new computer. Ours is dying. We use it a lot for research and my daughters math is on it.
I’d buy my kids clothes and supplies. Having four is expensive!
I’d use it to cover some unexpected expenses that have come our way and buy my littlest one a new car seat. He’s rapidly outgrowing his infant seat!
So many places it could go!! New school books for the coming year, a pair of jeans and shoes for each of my 9 kids, and if any left over, put towards debt from hubbys business!
Homeschool stuff!!
Clothes, school supplies, and bedding for our son’s new bed!
Clothing and help out my family with the upcoming school year. 🙂
Clothes and homeschool supplies, and probably a few board games!
I would probably buy groceries and some fall clothes for my girl who’s birthday is 8/16
I would use the money to take our kids to the zoo before school starts. It’s something I’ve wanted to do this summer, but our finances have been too stretched to take them. They would love to go!
Thanks for the opportunity to enter.
I would consider it a blessing to help pay for bills and food, as our family is in between ministry placements.
Jessica
I would buy curriculum and some new clothes for myself!
Kindergarten supplies for my new kindgartener! And household items for the pantry, etc. for our new apt.! We are starting completely from scratch and $500 would go a long way!
I would use it for two of my kids’ gymnastics tuition for fall session. We use gymnastics in place of OT, for sensory therapy, since it is cheaper than our copay. AND they get socialization and practice in taking turns and letting others go first too!
Would use the $500 on my remaining curriculum purchases and the rest would go to our field trip fund.
ummm to early to start Christmas shopping…I think not 🙂
Such a blessing it would be – school materials, field trips and computer repair!
Our homeschool expo is just right around the corner. I could spend a million bucks there if I had it! This year we will have two homeschooling.
Oh yeah… and I’d pay the electric bill. =o)
I would use the money to get our school books and supplements for the year. Having four kiddos isn’t cheap. 🙂
Oh my, so many places I could spend that! I would probably buy some curriculum and some fun things for our school room. Maybe even chairs! Brook brook_prescott at hotmail.com
We would use the money on groceries and on textbooks for my husband’s upcoming semester!
I’d definitely stock up on homeschool supplies and new clothing and art supplies for the kids!
With $500, I would do something nice for my husband. Recently, he has had some family issues trying to help out his brother with bi polar. He is also a PhD student in Organic Chemistry and works extremely hard for me and our daughter. He is so stretched right now with traveling back and forth to visit his brother and helping to pay for his treatments. He deserves a nice day out and maybe some extra cash to help out his family. He has the kindest heart!
If I were to win the money I would use it to buy some needed things for the house we are buying.
I would also use some of it towards paying for some activities for my children to participate in.
OHHH I would use it on school suplies and maybe book shelves. This is our second year homeschooling and Im realizing that I need some organization:)
Most definitely it would be good literature!!!!
We’re expecting baby #2 so I would use it to buy a bed for my toddler, things to decorate both rooms, and new things for the baby.
I would definitely use it for back to school clothes and supplies.
$500 would finish up my school planning for next year perfectly!

$500 would definitely help me build up my new jewelry business. I’d either use the money to buy new supplies… or help my parents pay their bills. 🙂
I would most definitely spend a good chunk of this on school supplies and uniforms and new shoes. And maybe add in that cute pair of wedges I saw at the shoe store the other day!!! 🙂
I would spend most of it on school stuff and books, and some of it on our home.
I would use the $500 for a ‘YES’ trip to a museum–of my children’s choosing! I’m sure it would be either a hands-on or science museum. They have wanted to visit an aquarium for a few years.
I would pay for my oldest to take Chinese classes for the next school year and for my little one to take tap dance classes.
I would save the money for books & christmas presents. ;D
Wow! $500 – my mind is going rapidly at all we could use it for. Homeschool supplies for the 5 we have at home, long overdue and much needed family vacation, new business expenses we have incurred, home repairs, something nice and new for each of our daughters (we get a lot of “bless-me-downs” and something new would for each of them would be nice), a weekend for hubby and me, and the list goes on and on
I would use the money to pay for upcoming fall activities for my four kids!

I would spend some of it on fall/winter clothes for our girls and take a one night vacation to the beach. My husband hasn’t been on a vacation with us in 3 years!
ah! what an awesome giveaway! we have at least ten projects going on around our house right now (we just decided to stay in our little house instead of moving and I’m nesting for no pregnancy reason!)… $500 would be SO great because we’re about to buy a new bed and make a massive trip to IKEA and that would bless us to no end! so that’s where it would go! woohoo!
If I was win $500, I would use it to cover school expenses
We are getting ready to move! We are downsizing our home and $500 would really help with moving expenses!
What an awesome giveaway! $500 will be such a blessing to someone. If that person were me, I would spend it on plane tickets to my parent’s house. My youngest daughter has yet to meet them, and my oldest daughter asks about Grandma every day!
I would pay off a medical bill!!! That would be a huge blessing!
My husband and I need to purchase a new digital SLR Canon for our getting our photography business off the ground. This would help tremendously!
The kids are growing up as fast as we can capture the memories. I would definitely use the money to help create memories that the kiddos won’t forget for a long time, like going on a camping trip and spending time outside, laughing and playing board games.
First… a pencil sharpener! Second… a computer!
I would use it to help remodel the house we’re trying to buy right now!
I would pay my college tuition!
I would get an iPad.
After a laptop (I miss mine so much. It bit the dust.), I would definitely buy more curriculum and fun learning stuff. The budget never seems to be big enough when I browse through those homeschooling catalogs.
I would pay for the ballet intensive, pointe shoes, and new leotards, then save the rest for my daughter’s Suzuki European tour next June.
OR
Pay for the two loads of mulch we finally had delivered and get the piano tuned.
OR
Put it towards Teaching Textbooks since we are switching math programs. Again.
So many expenses, so hard to choose!
There are so many things I could do with this money. The immediate need is to purchase my daughter’s curriculum for school. Perhaps if there is any extra I’d whisk my hubby away for a romantic evening!
Honestly $500 would prbably be used to catch up on some late bills, but I would like to buy a screen door for our front door.
Well one of two choices (depending on what would be MOST needed at that point)
1. pay bills that need caught up
2. homeschool curiculm for this fall, birthday party for my oldest & youngest (fall birthdays) and screen door for our front door (from what i’ve read i’m not the only 1 needing a new 1 b4 winter).
I should use it for bills and household expenses BUT instead I would take a little trip with the husband somewhere. We rarely get date nights and haven’t been away on our own for 3 years… some couple time is long overdue!
I would use part of it for school stuff and part of it for our pool and deck. Since we’ll be home more now we’ll get a lot more use of it.
We’ve just bought our first house, so home funishings!!
I would use the giveaway for organizational products for homeschool and fall/winter clothes for my children. hayvalley@hughes.net
My husband’s truck broke down several weeks ago…this would help him fix it!
I would use the money to buy the things I will need to start homeschooling my children this fall!
Kadren
I would invest it in doing on online course that would help me kickstart my newly desired career change!
I would put it towards the expenses of the self-publishing of the novel I am working on. It would be so great to have nest-egg towards that dream!
Curriculum…we are new to homeschooling.
I would use it to pay my insurance deductable so I could get my only vehicle fixed.
Oooh I love just imagining in my head what I could do with $500. I would most likely spend it on all the boring necessities in life, like groceries and overdue bills. I would definitely put some aside for a babysitter and a long overdue dinner out with my ever patient partner.
I will use it to buy curriculum/books for our upcoming homeschool this september.
20000 entries?! Yeah, like I’d win anyway! As usual, just want to be here for you!
Praying right now!
Isaiah 41:10, 13 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. (13) For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

$500 would be such a help as we get started on our homeschooling journey. Supplies and classes, for sure!
I’d use it for my daughter’s curriculum for the next school year!
I would buy our curriculum for the next school year (2nd and 5th grades) and it cost $400 last year, and I know I need more this year. If I had any left, I would use it for school supplies. : )
Great giveaway Rachel!
Books, books, books! And a few art supplies.
We are finally purchasing a home after renting for 12years! That money would really help with anything at this point:) Especially back to school!

If I won, Id probably use the money for homeschool supplies and clothes for the kids.
The money would be used to purchase school supplies and clothes for my two boys, and buy paint and fixtures to re-do the boys’ bathroom.
I would buy a new camera! My poor old Powershot is *really* shot.
I would buy another lens for my camera.
I’d buy myself a new swimsuit and then save the rest until I need it.
We would use $500 to pay for car smog and registration, and then use the rest for a family date to the zoo with our 16 month old son. :^)
I would get our Dental & Vision insurance up and running! That’s the biggest need for us now that I’m self-employed. 🙂
I would use it to help pay for my daughter’s music lessons.
You know, with things as tight as they are, I think I would probably use it for fun and entertainment for our family. A little dose of frivolity amidst our frugality would be such a blessing right now!
I would use it towards expenses/bills and save some for a nice little getaway to Door County WI
I would love to buy some art supplies we don’t normally splurge on. And books!
I would be buying curriculum for the year…
Catch up on some bills!
Buy preschool supplies for my girl, ballet lessons, and share the gift by purchasing curriculum for my niece.
Oh so many possibilities….I think I would spend it on a weekend away with my hubby. We really need it!
Ooooo… I could think of a zillion ways, but I think best would be to go towards our family vacation this fall!
I wuld use this for the rest of ’12-’13 currculum, computer repair and van repair. In that order. All helpful for school!
We are due with baby #2 in December, I haven’t started preparing anything yet so hopefully that would go a long way.
I would love the opportunity to enroll my two daughters in gymnastics or ballet classes. I would also use the money to buy preschool supplies and a much-needed date night with my husband.
Would pay for a lot of swimming & tennis lessons for two boys!
