I’ve been racing around for these past few weeks, for the past couple of months, spinning in circles of busy.
There is something beautiful in stillness and quiet. I remember once hearing about this retreat center where you aren’t allowed to speak. At all. Ever. The entire time. {Yes, that concept took a bit to sink in.} For a while I questioned whether I would really enjoy that — no talking? I’m all about fellowship — but, then again, as the years creep by I’ve begun to realize the importance of taking bouts of silence. Sometimes in the stillness clarity can be regained and creativity blessed.
So for this weekend I will be silent. Well, I’m going to talk, but I’m going to take the weekend off from writing — beyond this post — and none for Sunday. I’m just going to let the blog sit here. Rest.
In that writing silence I am praying for some moments to recharge. To refocus, to rest, and to reflect. And, oh my, to laugh and enjoy that fabulous family that the Lord has blessed me with.
May your weekend also be blessed, full of peace, and unexpected joy.

Once n a while we need to take a step back… enjoy it!
Rachel, my sweet husband just took the children out for a day of fun….me, I have a home of silence…I miss them…but the recharge is so necessary! Enjoy!
Wow…to not talk for a whole weekend? It actually sounds pretty intriguing. I hope you have a restful weekend. And if you have a chance, pop on over to my blog and listen to the song that goes well with what you’re talking about. Be Still…
Blessings!

But that means no pictures of Samuel!

Hebrews 6:17-20 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Enjoy!
January is our quietest month. No big church events or trips and lots of cozy days at home… I love at and always feel sad when it ends!
Love this: “Sometimes in the stillness clarity can be regained and creativity blessed.” Hoping the weekend was one of great quiet and rest!
So…you recharged yet? Wanna know that we got snow?
Praying for you right now!
Psalms 16:8-9, 11 I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. (11) Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
