dictionary.com defines a still as: a single photographic print, as one of the frames of a motion-picture film.
today: wishing I had shut the window in the kitchen last night as it was 32 degrees overnight.
want to be: intentional with my time, grateful for today, and a wise steward of my time.
blessings: school work completed, a clean kitchen, and caught up laundry.
thinking: about Samuel’s third birthday on Tuesday {sigh}, what to put on my to-do list, and about fall.
planning: posts for October, for the savvy blogging summit, and when to do the clothing switch.
writing: another dear mom letter, a second intentional parenting series, and replying o emails.
loving: salted caramel mocha creamer, Caleb’s hugs in the morning, and playing cards with Grace.
grateful: for kind emails, warm blankets, my copy of the Deseret, and piles of school books.
today {again}: let me be grateful for today, celebrating the little moments, and finding joy.
sunday stills take about five minutes to write – it’s my intentional way to ponder the week that has passed and to prep for the week to come. It’s a single print out of the busy cycle of life, a pause, a way to plan, and to remember.
what are you still moments {your snippets in life} for today?

i about gasped when i saw 0 feedburner readers pop up on my blog. lol… i was a bit panicky. so i had to come over here and see what your ticker said. phew! i guess they are having issues today.
anyways. aww, a wise steward with my time. that is always my struggle! praying for strength with that. i’ll ask for some for you, too.
love you dear!
this is such a brilliant idea! I would love to do something like this, either for my blog or just for personal reasons here in “real life” lol.
I love your blog you are so inspirational!
this post really touched me, i read it when you first posted it but didn’t have time to comment, but i made sure to come back.
I had a very similar instance when we first moved here. It’s a VERY small town and most of these people have all been together for forever and arent very conducive to new folks. not only that, i was big and pregnant and younger than almost all the other moms by at least 10 years. talk about fish out of water since I came from a military town where EVERYONE was our age!
It was so depressing and that first year here was really rough. There was one woman who kind of took me under her wing, she was the only one who seemed to get it, and it turned out she was from the same home town as us and she and her family had just been through the same thing just 2 years before! It really just takes that one person to make you feel like somebody and not just a body.
Thank you for posting this. It really means a lot that you are trying to influence others to reach out to newbies and people who just genuinely need a friend or just an opening to prove themselves as worthy of a group. I always try to include others and make a point to introduce myself to new people because I know first hand what it is like to feel like a nobody in a sea of somebodys.
Very Sincerely,
Bethany

Just trying to catch up after missing a few days! And praying!
Psalms 18:30-32 As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God? It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.

What a great idea and lovely post! Reflection, awareness, prayer, planning… all so important to our faith and our journey!! Beautifully put here in your blog!!
Rachel – just wanted to share! I write every Tuesday and post at the Two Writing Teachers blog for their “Slice of Life” writing challenge. It’s mostly teachers who are practicing the craft of writing to help us teach writing in the classroom. Anyway, I wanted to share with you that I used this post as inspiration. Thank you for being an inspiration to me — as a mother, as a teacher, and as a follower of Christ!
