In our home I’m pretty strict about the food that we eat and want to make our options healthy. But I also have kids – seven of them – and they want their food to taste good, to look cool, and to be fun. And, shhhh, I really like it for my kids to get their vegetables.
Since my almost three year old Samuel has Celiac Disease and can’t eat gluten, I like to look for products that allow his normal to match the normal of his six siblings. I want his food to be just as fun and to not feel limiting. And I also need it to help supplement his diet and to provide that much-needed, extra nutritional boost.
Now there is one thing my kids love, beg, and hope will make it into the many grocery bags entering our home every week. That item? The single serve juice. And sigh, for years I’ve avoided purchasing this item as they’ve been loaded with other stuff that my growing {and energetic} kids didn’t need.
That being said, my kids still want to have fun and cool food options and are thrilled when the juice enters our home. And I’m thrilled when I find juice that provides nutrients, like fiber, that makes them happy and me confident in my healthy mom choices.
The solution?
At least the temporary try it now solution that I’ve found that actually really works?
Capri Sun Super V .
The secret weapon? Vegetables. Added to the drink. 1/4 veggies, 3/4 fruit. Perfection.
The super secret weapon? It tastes amazing, and those fab kids of mine absolutely love it! Here’s the cool info – a pouch of Super V {make sure to visit their awesome site to learn more} contains a combined serving of fruits/veggies and 25% comes from the veggies incorporated into the drink.
I didn’t tell my kids about the veggies when I gave them the pouch of Super V that they had been begging for since the juice arrived. No, instead, I gave them the highly sought after container of Super V, watched them enjoy it with their snack {we had popcorn}, and then proceeded to tell them that the drink had a secret weapon – vegetables.
Then they asked for another.
In my eyes? A success.
Cool factor? Taken care of.
Fruits and Veggies? As well.
Well done, Capri Sun Super V, well done.
So now super awesome moms looking for a solutio, now you can buy the cool Capri Sun drink and feel great about getting the healthy and cool choice. You can go right ahead and watch your kids jump for joy while sitting back knowing that they’re getting that serving of fruits and veggies. That is the sought after win-win in food choices – kids love it/tastes great coupled with the healthy mom choice.
By the way, as long as we’re chatting about healthy snacks, here’s a list of ten of our favorite simple gluten free snacks that pair fabulously with Super V.

My son loves fruit and will eat anything mixed into mac and cheese!
Luckily, my oldest is a very healthy eater. (No idea where she gets it from!) She eats green peppers like they are apples, for lunch she wants a lettuce sandwich and she loves celery and apples. And our middle daughter eats ANY and EVERYTHING. I’m guessing our third daughter will be the picky eater when she’s older.
When we make our homemade soups we add purees of veggies to them. One of our favorites for soups is celery. It add a nice thickening base.
I tweeted about this post.

I introduced my kiddos to all fruits and veggies from day one – cauliflower, eggplant, broccoli, brussel sprouts – you name it. And today? They will eat all of them. Almost. I consider myself very blessed.
We love the new CapriSun Super V!
Mott’s Medleys Fruit Snacks are made with real fruit and vegetable juice – and are gluten free!

We incorporate veggies by offering fun, healthy dips and also doing some covert recipe changing- not to trick them, but to show them how tasty healthy foods can be.
My 4-year-old loves fruits and vegetables and will try any foods you offer him. My 7-year-old? Not so much. We’ve struggled for, oh, 7 years to get her to eat fruits and veggies. She gags and struggles not to “lose her lunch” at the very thought of eating a strawberry. I know! I don’t get it either. She loves Super V, though, and she’ll eat fruit leathers. She also takes vitamins every day.
This is so awesome! I’m always looking for new ways to sneak fruits and veggies into my little guy’s diet. He has autism, so his diet is extremely limited (by taste/texture/etc). I make fruit/veggie smoothies (they have strawberries, blueberries, cherries, banana, greek yogurt, strawberry kefir, almond milk, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, carrots, spinach, and beets) and you honestly can’t taste the veggies. They’re SO good. Anyway, I freeze the leftovers into popsicle molds, and my little man LOVES them.
I recently purchased one of those “super blenders” and the kids love it when I add spinach and unusual fruit to their smoothies. They also enjoy the process of making/cooking/growing foods, so the more they are involved, the more they eat. All three are pretty adventurous with veggies and fruit now, but I know they would love it if I surprised them with a case of this new Capri Sun Super V after a soccer game soon!
I discovered these a few weeks ago and my grandkids all love them!
My kids have always loved fruits and veggies, so I am very lucky. I also add shredded zucchini to most soups and stews.
Purée veggies and add them to baked goods and other meal items!
My son and my daughter both love to eat fruits and veggies. They’ll eat any fruit, any time. To make sure they get enough veggies, I like to cut them up and serve them with hummas (for dip).
I add lots of veggies to our Smoothies. Thankfully my children will eat many fruits & veggies either raw or steamed.
Cool I can’t wait to try these! Fortunately my girls love fruit and veggies so I just try to offer them throughout the day. Some days I am better than others. I also like pureeing veggies and hiding them in food to amp up them nutrients they receive.
I put fruit on their plate even if they complain. They always end up eating it. I also make several meals a week that have veggies mixed in that they don’t necessarily know about.
I don’t have kids…but I do like to add avocado to my fruit smoothies…so delicious…and I also use winter squash when I make grain-free pancakes 🙂 🙂 Also really delicious 😉 🙂 🙂 THanks for hosting such a great giveaway and spotlighting another great gluten-free product. I always take note of the gluten free stuff that you talk about here 🙂 🙂 Love and hugs from the ocean shores of CAlifornia, Heather 🙂
Most mornings, I blend up fruit smoothies in our vitamix blender…I sneak in things like carrots, spinach, green superfood powder. The kids love them and it is better than juice because it retains all the fiber of the fruit/vegetables.
I will cut up fresh spinach real small and then put it in eggs, grilled cheese, etc. My kids have no idea!
I serve a fruit at breakfast and a fruit & veggie at lunch and dinner… they always have to try it, and they usually eat most of it.
I tried pureeing additional veggies into other foods (spaghetti sauce, goulash, etc.) but it was so much work 😛 So now we just EAT them raw or steamed – easy and FRESH.
My meal saving strategy is to combine vegetables in their eggs. It doesn’t really change the taste and they eat their veggies.
THANKS for the AWESOME GIVEAWAY!!!

–>We grow our own vegetables and something about picking them fresh and helping me prepare them for dinner eliminates a lot of the struggle.
I’ve never seen these before! Awesome! I love finding ways to put in some extra nutrients to their diets. From pasta sauce to chili to soups to crock pot meals to desserts with fruit, I love cooking from home and adding fruit/veggie extras!
No kids at home. When they visit I just have fruits and veggies available.

I just tweeted!
I am always on the look out for ways to increase my children’s veggie consumption. This juice is great at “hiding” the good stuff my children won’t normally eat by itself.
We have a LOT of smoothies around here, and I put spinach in every one. 🙂 I also tend to put spinach in, well, everything else, too! homemade mac n cheese is actually amazing if you blend spinach into the milk first. (Love my vitamix for that!)
Thanks for the giveaway – it is nice to see “fun” foods that are still healthy. My kids are the same as yours in begging for single serve juices! 🙂
I think I might have the pickiest kids on the planet. Actually been thinking a lot about how to get them to eat healthier. {sigh} I did recently discover an applesauce made with veggies that my super-picky youngest will eat if it’s frozen into a popsicle.
You would think having a vegetarian husband would make it easier to feed veggies to the kiddos…Think again:) I am becoming a master veggie hider ! Their favorite is deffinately chocolate chip zucchini bread.
I try and incorporate them into smoothies!
SHHH! I sneak spinach into the fruit smoothies….they have no idea they are drinking spinach!!
Oh,I try! I try to use coconut milk for ice cream, zucchini in breads, flax seed in pancakes or anything really. I try. They tend to know when it’s a “Health” food…and get caught! THANK YOU!!
DDs love fruit smoothies, they don’t care or have no idea what veggies I sneak in.

We struggle with veggies and our little ones…my son loves to eat apples for breakfast…we do try to add veggies to pastas and stuff like that.
I put out a monkey platter filled with foods I know they will eat readily but also with cut-up veggies and all-natural ranch. When I put the veggies on individual plates, they can get ignored, but on the monkey platter they always disappear! Why? Who knows, but it works!
I put out a lot of fruit and raw veggies. I notice if there out on the counter people will snack.
My boys love the Capri Sun Super V drinks. I just added one to my sons’ lunch this morning for school. They also love the GoGo SqueeZ applesauce pouches. My 2 year old can eat them by himself and not make a mess. Big plus in my book. They also love fresh and frozen fruit. Mainly berries but I make smoothies with lots of healthy things in them.
Well 2 out of my 3 kids will eat their veggies or at least try them and will are good about it. Those are my 2 youngest my oldest I have to “hide” them and put them in his food he doesn’t know until the younger too giggle & squeal YOU just ate some veggies 🙂

Thanks for the chance.
My kiddos have thankfully always liked fruits & veggies (for the most part). So I would give them some for breakfast, like bananas, blueberries, apples. And then we usually have a veggie for dinner – green beans, corn, salad, etc…
Would love a chance to win one of the gift cards!
(PS – I’m a total bass offender…BUT…I don’t think I have enough of a ‘sound system’ in my car for anyone to actually hear it outside the vehicle…LOL)

Fruit is never a problem – my kids love it! We always make sure to have a lot of fruit available for them. The most effective way we have found to get them to eat veggies is to grow our own. There is magic in picking your own carrot or beans!
I provide a dip or topping that they will love along with the chopped fruits or veggies. They love dipping carrots or cauliflower in ranch dressing, apples in peanut butter and melted cheese on broccoli.

I try to give the kids lots of fuit and vegetable options, and have them keep trying the same fruits and vegetables, even if they disliked them before (at least a couple of bites).
Gosh, I just put the fruits and veggies on their plates and tell them to eat it. Funny how un-picky kids can be when they know that’s the only food they’re getting. 😉

I use my immersion blender and add vegetables like cauliflower, zucchini, and spinach to spaghetti sauce and creamy soups. When my daughter got older and I told her what was in them, she seriously said she wished I hadn’t said anything! 🙂
And I don’t do it just for my kids – I like to eat my zucchini whirred into things, too!
For veggies, we roast nearly everything. We’ve discovered that just about any veggie tastes great roasted. For fruits, I just buy them. I can’t keep ’em in the house. There aren’t many fruits that my younger two don’t eat.
Thanks for the chance to win!

By giving my kids Capri Sun V of course, what a silly question 😉 I like to make smoothies with spinach – you can’t taste it. We sprinkle veggies on anything we can, pasta, gravies, sauces, in addition to serving veggies on the side.
I don’t do anything special to get my kids to eat veggies, but I do serve them fruits and veggies for every meal every day. At some point, they get hungry or curious (because I’m very low pressure) and they give in and try it. I sometimes do a no thank you bite, too, so they’ve at least tasted whatever the food is.
I like fruit juices that have veggies added in; I’ll look for these pouches. Thanks!

My girls prefer eating spinach to romaine and other lettuce. Score! Also, they love apple slices with peanut butter. By the way, thank you for the list of gluten free snack options. We have a friend who has celiac disease and I’m always at a loss as to what to have on hand for her to eat when she’s at our house. Adding it to dessert of course =)! It’s also great to add the fruit to their cold cereal or oatmeal. Another great way is with dip, a fresh dill dip makes any vegetable taste incredible.
I put dried fruit into cookies
I’m lucky, my daughter has always loved fruit and veggies. She’s been know to go to a restaurant and ask for just a bowl of green beans for dinner! The fruit side of things is easy, my whole family eats fresh fruit all day long if it’s in the house. For veggies, it takes a little more work to slice up a cucumber or peppers for snacking, but it’s so worth it! Peanut butter for dip helps my youngest (pickiest!) enjoy them too.
I keep fruit and vegetables ready to eat in the fridge so they can just grab them. My family loves them and it makes it easier to eat if they don’t have to really do much to get them.

I serve fruit with just about every meal. Also, I cut up fresh veggies like carrots, broccoli, cucumbers, or different colored bell peppers, whatever we have, and serve them as an afternoon snack while I’m making dinner. Sometimes I add dip or hummus. The kids still get to munch on something crunchy, but they don’t realize that they’ve eaten a whole salad in the meantime!
My kids have severe food allergies, so we work hard to make sure that they get all the essential nutrients. Smoothies are my favorite way to get their fruits & veggies, and I don’t even have to sneak them in! They happily help me add to the mix all the things they would never normally eat, and then slurp them down! Perfect!
Homemade pizza and lasagna, of course! You can throw anything into those meals and the kids still love them! 🙂

Fruits and Veggies have never really been an option for our kids. They are (almost) always presented at meals. They have never known any different. Truthfully, they don’t love them all, but they do love the majority of the food that they are presented with. We also let them help choose what we eat and they are often times in the kitchen with dad, yes dad, helping cook.

She also enjoys eating guacamole by the spoonful, lol.

Smoothies are great for getting the kids to eat fruits and veggies! I also like to sneak veggie baby food into food =)
Our family loves smoothies and it is a great way to add fruits and veggies. The favorite here is milk, ice, yogurt, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, and a little spinach.
My kids like any want to buy the pudding and candy they see others with… but dont often get it. WE ALL eat together so they see mom and dad eating all the healthy options too and of course we are still the coolest people to them! And my kids even my 16 month old get so excited to go to the grocery store that lets them have an apple to snack on for our shopping trip!
Will have to try these. I hardly ever buy Capri Sun,,,but this kind seems healthy.

This is hard – I usually chop them small and throw them in so one sees them
When I make Mac & cheese, I transform it into “dirty – mac” by adding some sorta meat and veggies. My son loves it! If he’s picky (he’s 13 months), I use a straw and let him sip up the gerber puree veggies – like a smoothie!
Well my child actually LOVES and always asks for fruits and veggies. His favorite is cauliflower. Go figure. I have made dishes with pureed veggies hidden inside for my adult friends who refuse to eat veggies. lol! Like pureed cauliflower in homemade mac and cheese. Not a clue.

Two words: gummy vitamins! It’s the only way with a picky three year old.
We use Capri Super V at home, add pureed veggies to sauces and soups, cut-up and julienned veggies to stir-frys and casseroles and use lots of dipping sauces. Basically, if there’s a ways to “sneak it in,” we find it. Oh, and a high-quality multivitamin, of course!
I add veggies to anything I can. My favorite is carrots, celery, and mushrooms. Chop, dice, puree whatever I can. My older kids are always joking I try to “healthitize” everything!

My kids would not eat salad, so when I cut up the vegetables, I would leave a few pieces to the side of the table and my kids would run by and snatch them, then run to their room to eat them.
Also I NEVER associated dessert with dinner. When I made a special treat, I would wait until an hour or two after dinner, then announce that I had made the treat. They were not required to finish everything on their plate to have dessert.
