Hi, I have read a couple of your articles in the Huffington Post, and I just wanted to say thank you. I’m currently crying, I just finished reading your article Why We Need to Stop Asking, ‘How Do You Do It All?’.

It’s been 3 years this weekend that I left an abusive relationship after the baby in my belly was trying to get away from hearing his father’s voice and touch, and that night was the last time he hit me. My dog had to make him vacant the apartment so I could lock the door, being 5 months pregnant it was extremely hard to leave a relationship, especially when I was still in grade 12. I raised my son on my own with absolutely no help from his father, even now 3 years later, still no help from him. I moved out on my own with my son and went to college when he was only 10 days old. After not being able to find a job in my field, I ended up at a mussel plant doing labour work. I ended up meeting a really nice guy at my work, and the day after my son’s first birthday we started dating. We were both struggling financially, so he took me and my son in, and we split our costs of living in half. We had our son in July, 2014. We have 1 boy together, I have 1 son, and my boyfriend has a daughter the exact same age as my son. Having 3 kids under 3, running a non-profit organization helping mom’s out of my own home, while on maternity EI, is quite eventful, and I never feel like I’ve done enough that day. I never have a finished list, and always have things adding to my never ending to-do list.

I’m sorry for the rant, but I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. A couple of your articles on parenting, have really helped me deal with my post partum depression, and help me manage my day to day activities. And just now while trying to find out how to contact you, I found your blog and the posts on celiac disease, and gluten free. We found out that I am gluten sensitive, and am awaiting test results for celiac disease, because I have chronic migraines, which are triggered by gluten, and we are struggling to find out if my oldest son is sensitive to gluten as well.

Anyways, thank you for being so true and honest, even in your articles. It’s people like you who bring a great deal of comfort to all other mom’s. Hope you’re having a great Easter weekend with your family.

    • Dear Sister Emily,

My heart goes out to you sister. I know the throws of abusive relationship and set out 4.5 years ago to understand them and find a way to bring an end to them. Your story is inspirational and love that you too are now helping moms. Yes, there never seems to be an end to the do-list it just keeps growing and growing.

My speciality is helping moms tune into their inner world – esp using their cycles – which when we don’t know how to appreciate our Moon Cycle (as I call it) it can lead to many PMS symptoms and woos. If you want to check out my upcoming course and work – you can look here:

Wishing you and your sweet family lots of love!
