40 little things that will perk your smile

My 40 Motherhood Tips are some of  the most requested list of tips that I’ve put together in my four years of writing – it’s a collection of some of my favorite motherhood tips.

They’re those little things that matter tips, really.

Like what to do when your two year old dumps an entire bag of flour out in the kitchen and it’s floating everywhere and on everything and in his hair. Yes, yes, I’ve dealt with that. Or getting down on their level and looking them in the their eyes and not mumbling mmhhmm or in a minute. Or that sometimes being a mom means saying yes to hot cocoa at Starbucks or rocking them a bit longer in the chair at night.

Simple tips. Real tips. Not about being perfect, but rather about the moments of motherhood.

I’d love to get you a copy – simply fill out the form below and I will have it sent to your inbox immediately. It’s a ten page ebook that you can print out, keep on your computer, or have ready for those moments when you simply need to smile.

I’d like to start by saying… Love this already. I have read three articles and am so excited.
I hate hearing about breast is best and attachment parenting is the only way to go, cosleeping is a must and feeling like if you do something else your a failure. I’m always trying to find things to post and share about we all are moms and we all do things different but honestly it doesn’t matter what parenting method we used all that will matter to our little ones is that we love them, cared for them and were always there for them!! I started a group called Mommas to Miracles on Facebook because I have a daughter who is a miracle X2 but have learned that some mommas just don’t understand our fears, worries, and situations of why we couldn’t breast feed or why our babies are not a Gerber baby or why we have the fears we do.
This is an article I’ll definitely be sharing!!
Thank you for trying to make a difference in this judgmental life we seem to be mommies in!!

So accurate! Nothing but the heartfelt truth.Thank you so much for getting it and spreading it!! .
You know there is something to be said about the invisible work we mothers do. For most of my mothering life the maternal thinking I did was ever present, sometimes in the forefront of my consciousness, sometimes secondary, but almost always there. It took a lot of introspection , learning from the children, from interactions, from my self, from thoughts and feelings felt in the past ,and in the present ,from caring professionals and definitely from other mothers assimilating wisdom, preparing for today and the future. Loving and caring so deeply leaves you vulnerable to pain yet can also bring great joy. we mothers have had an opportunity to get a hands on life course in human development. Perhaps that knowledge
can be used, perhaps that wisdom can be made visible,,perhaps we could value it ourselves and spread it, Perhaps if we did that deliberately and consciously we could influence human nature. It’s a reach I know, but why not try.?

Your work is amazing and inspiring! You have truly made it easier for all the readers to be on the same level by sharing vulnerably your experiences and even more the inner thought process that mothers feel and have.

Hey, Rachel! It is so great to have found you, and boy does it seem like you are a busy mom! You have enticed me to participate in the de-clutter-along that starts on Monday. I found you again just in time- God’s Perfect timing. I ordered the book thrugh AUDIBLE. I may take a little listen ahead of time. The sample offered to us on Amazon was such a tease! And having lived in this house for over 20 years, I am certain my work is cut out for me. I am really excited to get going. Will you be emailing us how this will work? Take care and thank yu ,thank you for taking the initiative in getting us up and off of our collective bums! Elisabeth Charriez

Happy to have found your page. I have elementary-aged children, and no pre-schoolers, but I still often find it hard to snap out of busy-mommy and referee-mommy modes and simply find joy in the moment. I know that if I can find true joy in the moment and smile and laugh, all the negative can be diffused, but I often miss this emotion and just get pulled down to beating myself up and wishing I could have a re-do. Perhaps I should just humble myself and ask my kids for a redo more often. :)
